****SENSITIVE CHAPTER AHEAD**** *READ AT YOUR OWN RISK* *DISTURBING*
"Is that all, Miss. Mindy?" I asked.
Miss. Mindy was the Art teacher and though I didn't do Art, I knew her well due to numerous times she had helped in designing the sets and giving costume ideas during drama productions.
"Yes dear, that's all. Thank you so much for your help, I'm sorry I kept you back from going home early." Miss. Mindy told me.
"It's alright, anyway I was supposed to stay afterschool but it got cancelled. My parents aren't expecting me until 5. I am glad to be of help, Miss. Mindy." I smiled at the young Art teacher.
"You better get going now, see you tomorrow. Be safe, sweetheart." Miss. Mindy called out as I made my way out of the Art Room.
"Bye. Take care, Ma'am."
As I was walking towards the car park I could see Henderson, Matt, Joe and some others in the basketball field. I paused by to watch them play- I was quite interested in basketball as Luke, Jenna's boyfriend, was a start basketball player and the former captain of Westland High's team and I had gone to many matches with her to cheer Luke on. Luke was like the brother I never had.
About 5 minutes into the match, I could hear a phone ringing near the bleachers. At the same time, Henderson walked towards the bleachers. The bleachers were quite near to where I was standing and I could hear the conversation.
"Hello Aunt."
"I am still at school, remember I have basketball afterschool today?"
"Aunt, this is really-"
"Please, match is on Friday."
"Aunt, when I-"
"Please please Aunt."
"Aunt, please believe me. I can't right now, I will do it when I am done."
"No Aunt!"
"Alright I will, I'll tell Coach that I should go now. What's the address?"
"Okay, Volt Street- No. 34. Then I should go to the warehouse at?"
"Alright Aunt. Please-"
"Okay then!" He sounded agitated.
The Coach came towards Henderson, "What's it son? Is it your aunt?"
"Yes Coach, she wants me to go now." Henderson looked up at his coach, frustrated.
"I understand, son. You are excused. Stay afterschool tomorrow and I'll talk to your aunt later." Coach said.
"Thanks Coach." And saying so, Henderson went to his friends to tell them something and walked towards the dressing room.
I looked at his retreating back curiously. His aunt had wanted him to leave his practices when it wasn't even halfway through. Why was that? I decided that I had to follow Henderson today. I looked at the time on my watch 4.10 p.m. I could send a message to Mum and Dad.
'Hey mum, I'll be late today. I've got something to do before coming home so don't panic. I will be able to make it before dinner. Love you. Tc xxx Lisa.'
As I saw Henderson coming out of the dressing rooms, I quickly walked towards my maroon 2010 Toyota Vitz and revved up the engine. I drove it out of the school and into a small by-lane, waiting until Henderson passed me in his silver 2014 Hyundai i20. I didn't have to wait long until the silver Hyundai passed mine and I followed it into the busy road. According to what I heard, Henderson would be stopping at No. 34, Volt Street before going into the warehouse. Henderson was turning into Hoover Street and I knew that there was a short cut which would take 10 minutes to get into Volt Street because via Hoover Street would take 15 minutes. Therefore I passed Hoover Street and turned into Feltham Avenue and turned left into a by-lane which would be leading to Grisham Avenue and I drove straight and turned left into Volt Street and drove until I stopped at No: 40. I killed the engine and waited for Henderson to come. After a few minutes, I saw the silver Hyundai making its way inside Volt Street and watched it come to a stop at No: 34, which was a two storied, narrow house with a door which had chipped red paint on it. Henderson went inside and returned after about 10 minutes with something wrapped in white paper and tied up with lots of white strings. I narrowed my eyes at the parcel and waited until Henderson got inside his car and reversed towards the main road.
I followed him at a distance, weaving through the traffic and making sure I had his car number in my mind. We were leaving the busy streets and were driving through what seemed like the countryside, I switched on my GPS and looked at where we were now, about 15 miles away from home. It was really far for me. The countryside landscape changed to show some sort of town which seemed dangerous and dirty. It seemed like the sort of town, where people were kidnapped and robbed, I couldn't stop the shivers going up my spine. As Henderson turned into an alley, I could see he was slowing down in front of a large warehouse like building. Therefore, I stopped my car near a garage which was spray painted all over and slowly got out after putting on my black hoodie. I locked my car and walked inside the alley and hid behind a large bin. The alley was deserted and I was pretty sure nobody would spring behind me. I looked on as Henderson took the parcel and walk towards the warehouse. However before he could walk inside, two burly guys with tattoos all over and dirty black tshirts and white paint streaked jogging pants come out and stopped him. They spoke to him for a minute and he gave them the parcel. He asked them something and one of the guys whistled. About 4 burly guys with tattoos, long unkempt hair and dirty clothes come out. They all looked menacing and scary. Henderson says something hurriedly and tries to go towards his car but one of the guys pounce on him and I cannot help but look on horrified as the guys punch Henderson and Henderson too manages to punch them but the guys are stronger than him and manage to bring him to the ground. However, Henderson kicks a guy and head-butts another and runs away towards his car and almost manages to get near it but the guy who whistled catches Henderson by the hem of his tshirt.
I mirror Henderson's horrified face as I see the guy sneer menacingly and pulls out a glinting object. A knife! Henderson struggles and kicks and manages to get free but the guy pulls him back and stabs the knife into Henderson's stomach.
I almost scream in horror and had to stuff my fist in my mouth to stop making a noise. The scene in front of me was awful. Henderson lets out a loud scream as the guy pulled out the knife which was now dripping with blood and he stabs it again across the cut he just made. I bury my head just as Henderson lets out another chilling cry, as the guys start laughing evilly. I look up as I hear an engine revving up and the laughter stops. The guys get inside a black jeep, the jeep drives away and disappears from sight. I wait for a minute or so and when I am sure nobody is in the ally, I stand up from my hiding place and make my way towards where Henderson was lying in the road. I clench my fists to stop it from shaking and my knees from knocking. I mentally tried to prepare myself to not start shaking and puking. At a distance I could see that Henderson was lying in a pool of blood.
