"Okay, tell me what has got you so preppy and radiant?" Sally asked me as we waited for the Physics teacher to come.
I looked at her, praying that my face didn't give out anything "What? I'm always like this."
Sally didn't buy it. "The past few days, you've been acting too weird."
"Yes, you've been too cheerful. This is so unlike you. What's up girl?" Kylie said as she slid into the seat next to me.
"Why were you late Kylie? You ditched the lunch as well." I turned to Kylie, trying to change the subject.
Keyword being 'trying'.
"I was out with Matt-" Kylie began.
"Details!" I whisper-squealed.
Sally and Kylie gave me a look that said 'I know what you are trying to do but I'm not buying it.'
"Girl, try not to avoid and change the subject. Now, spill!" Kylie said, Sally too hummed in agreement.
Both of them fixed me with a long hard stare. Damn! Why did I have to have friends like this?
"I told you it's nothing. I'm always like this. I'm always a cheerful person, aren't I?" I tried shrugging it off.
"Yes, you are generally a bright person but you are not so cheerful. This is like you are on a new high." Sally said in a no-nonsense tone.
Where is the teacher when you need them? Mr. Stradian, where are you?
"Oh c'mon I'm just being me. Is it a crime to be cheerful?" I pouted.
"Are you and Adam in a relationship?" Kylie asked casually.
At the mention of Adam's name, my cheeks went red. I tried to stop blushing but failed. Kylie and Sally saw my flaming cheeks and grinned.
"Sooooo...DETAILS!" Kylie almost squealed out loud, hadn't I put my hand over her mouth, muffling her voice.
"Ssssh, keep it down, you idiot!" I hissed.
"Ahhhh, finally our Lisa is in looooove!" Sally sang.
"So, what's the big deal?" I said looking at my crazy, grinning friends. They looked like lunatics with those huge Cheshire-cat like grins and sparkling, dopey eyes.
"You've never ever been in a relationship before, we were afraid that you'd die single with 50 cats." Sally said.
I raised my eyebrow at her.
"Well, what she said is true. You rejected anyone who'd ask you out. You've been going dateless to school dances. You've never even been on a date. Hell, you even blew up the blind date we set up!" Kylie said, reminding me of how I've had a 'Single-Not-Ready-To-Mingle' policy.
"So tell us, how did Adam Henderson worm his way into your cold cold ice-like heart." Sally said in a fake impression of a reporters voice, holding out an imaginary mike.
I laughed at Sally's theatrics. "I didn't have a 'cold cold ice-like heart.'" I used air quotations.
"Sure you didn't." Kylie said sarcastically.
Just as I was to open my mouth, Mr. Stradian strode inside the class. "Hello everyone."
Kylie and Sally sighed.
"Why does he have to come in now?" Sally grumbled under her breath.
"Anyway, you are telling us everything after class. I don't care if you get late to go home or what, WE WANT DETAILS!" Kylie almost screamed into my ear.
