Chapter 5

Waking up the next day was a drag, my head was pounding from the killer hangover. But all the memories came back, I met my Mate. I checked my phone to see if she had called or texted me but I hadn't. "She hasn't texted us...maybe she doesn't want us." My wolf spoke feeling hurt. "She wants us, didn't you see her last night?" I spoke back. I tried not to think negative about it but I hoped that she felt something, even if it was just something small.
I got up to get ready, taking a cold shower and getting dress took a bit since my stomach was protesting. When the phone rang, I ran as quick as I could to check who it was, it was Mia. "Hey hun, how you feeling?" I asked putting my phone on speaker. "Ugh...what the hell happened? I feel like Crap." She said, my guess was that she was just waking up. "Well you got really drunk after you met my mate." I said smiling. I looked my self in the mirror and I looked good, wearing a black shirt with light blue skinny jeans and some black vans. My hair was in a messy bun and I decided not to wear any makeup. "Oh yeah! How did it go? I mean meeting your mate? What's she like?" She asked all excited. I laughed a little, "She's perfect, she took my number down but hasn't texted me or called me." I said looking down, "Anyways, I'm on my way so I can help you guys clean up." I said trying to change the subject. "Oh, don't worry. My uncle and aunt got people for that. Why don't we head out for some lunch? I'm starving. Plus I need aspirin." She said, I couldn't help but laugh. "Fine, I'll be over in 15mins." I said hanging up. I walked into my kitchen getting some coffee ready, when I received a text.
"Hey, it's River. How you feeling?"
I smiled looking  at the message. She cared.
"Hey back, I'm okay. Did you make it home safe?"
I replied back. Instantly she responded,
"Yeah, I did. How's the hangover? Or did you get one?" I laughed at that.
"I do have one but I think I know something that can make it better." I replied, I knew it would be cheesy but I couldn't help it. I poured my coffee and sat down for a bit at the table.
"And what would that be.?" She responded.
"You." Was all I replied. I smiled hoping she would like it.
"Oh really? Then I should be there with you. Maybe you want to hang out sometime?" Was what she replied. I jumped in the air making my chair fall back, and making my wolf howl with Joy. "Yes!" I screamed happy.
"Yes, I'd really like that. Name a time and place and I'll pick you up." I replied smiling. I had to leave to pick up Mia, so with that I grabbed my keys, wallet and phone and ran to the car.
Driving as fast as I could I made it to Mia's uncles place. She was sitting down, playing with her phone when she looked up and ran to the passenger seat. "Took you long enough." She said buckling up. "Sorry, I was texting my mate." I said smiling. She squealed like a 5 year old. "Tell me! What did she Say?!" She said holding my arm. Thank god we hadn't move. "Relax! I'll tell you when we start eating, now where do you want to go? Mia looked at me smirking "Hmm, let's go eat some burgers at that Diner by our old school." I smiled and drove there. We kept small talk but I knew she wanted to know. Once we found parking, she flew out of my car rushing to find a seat. I grabbed my wallet and phone. I checked and saw a message from her. A smile came to my Face.
"Great. Maybe tomorrow? Around noon?" She asked. I smiled that she wanted to hang out.
"Yeah. That's fine sweetheart, or I can swing by and pick you up tonight?" I asked. I knew I was taking a chance when asking her that. I got out of my car and walked in the diner and saw Mia sitting, talking to the waiter. I sat across from her. I'm glad she picked a booth by the window. "Alright Mam' what can I get for you?" The waiter asked both of us. "I'll get a bacon cheeseburger with fries and a Pepsi." Was all I said looking out the window. "I'll get the same." Mia said looking at me. I looked at her and smirked, she started to laugh. "Umm ok ladies, it'll be right up." He said not moving. I looked at him, rising my eyebrow. "Need something?" I asked narrowing my eyes. He shook his head and walked off. "Alright spill Lelia! What happened?! What's she Like?!" She asked jumping up and down in her seat. I couldn't help but smile when I started to tell her about my little mate, she looked like a little girl. By the time I finished she was smiling hard. "Say something!" I told her as the waiter came back with our food and drinks. We thanked him, well she did. And he walked off. "She makes you that happy already hu?" She said after a while. I started eating and looked at her. Her eyes showed she was happy for me. "Yeah she does." I said softly. I checked my phone to see a message from her.
"Umm yeah, I guess you can pick me up... Around what time?" She replied.
I smiled and Mia was looking at me smiling as well. "What did she say?" She asked after taking a bite of her burger. "I'm picking her up later tonight." I told her smiling.
"Great. I'll pick you up around 7pm. Send me your address." I replied quickly.
"Where are you going to take her?" Mia asked. I took a big bite of my burger. I moaned tasting it. I just gave her a small shrug.
"Umm what should I wear?" She replied.
"Wear something comfortable, we are going to be walking for a bit." I replied. Placing my phone down, I kept eating with Mia gushing about where I should take her. I knew where I would be taking her. I just hoped she liked it.

After eating we went to my place. Mia was concentrating on her phone, while I was lost in thought. Making it into my garage, I saw a familiar car. My wolf came alive, more alert then before. "Mia." I said looking at the car, my eyes turning black. "Oh shit." She said. Turning my car off, I walked towards my door with Mia right behind me. I really didn't need "his" presence right now or ever. "Lelia, wait." My father said getting out the car. I stopped at my door. Mia turned around looking at him. "She doesn't want to talk to you. Please leave." She told him. Mia might not know what happened between my family, but I was grateful that she stood by my side. And I knew I never wanted to talk to that man that was a few feet away. "Step aside mutt." He said using his Alpha command. She had to obey, since she still belonged to his pack, she bowed her head, giving me a sympathy look. I looked at my father giving him a deadly glare. "Why are you here?" I asked him, showing him I wasn't backing down. "I'm not here to fight, I just want to talk please." He said giving me a pleading look. "Ok, so talk. What do you want." I asked. I was loosing my patience. "Alone" was all he said before masking his emotions. "Mia, go inside. I'll be back." I said walking around the house towards the forest. "Be careful, I'll call Elijah and the others for backup, just in case." She told me through the mind link. "Fine." Was all I said before closing it off.

Once we were far into the forest I stopped my tracks to face him. He had a straight face. "What do you want." Asking him wanting to get straight to the point. "My time in reign as the Alpha is coming to an end Lelia, you will have to step up and become the Alpha. You need to come back." He said, something was off. "Your lying. Now cut the crap father." I said my wolf suffering, making it harder to control her. "Hm, you always did know when people were lying. Very well, Lelia you need to come home. Rogues are gathering for an unknown reason. As my oldest daughter I need to protect you." He said looking me in the eyes. "I'm not going Anywhere near that house ever Again." I growled. His eyes started to change colors. "Back down Leila. Now." I knew he felt as if I was challenging his wolf. "Now Leila!" He growled, his wolf was taking over. Slowly growling I started to bow my head, showing my submission. His wolf was still on edge. "You have no Choice." He said angrily. "No, not while Mathew and your wife is still there father, you made me fight him because She Asked you to Do it! And when I lost you Threw me Out because She told you too! You picked them over Me!" I said looking down as my eyes swirled with color. "What I did was wrong but I had to make you stronger, she wanted what was Best for You. And you did become stronger. More than any warrior." He said as if it was something proud full. My anger fumed. "You left my Mother for that Bitch!" I lifted my head as my eyes were fully black, my body was shaking. "You picked Her over Us! I will Never go Back!" I screamed, shifting into my black wolf. At the same time he shifted and we lunged at each other. I aimed for his neck, wanting to draw blood. He knew what I was going for and tackled me, we fought for what felt ages till he was ripped off me by Elijah and the guys. I was hurt badly, he had taken a bit of my back leg and scratched my ribs. Mia ran towards me, handing me a blanket. I shifted, but didn't have the strength to stand, Mia held me up. Throwing one of my arms around her shoulder and holding my waist. "Leave. Now." Elijah growled. Everyone was in wolf form except us 3. My father growled and ran off. "Fuck Leila, your hurt badly." Mia said worried. She laid me down gently, "John! Help her now!" She said before, Soon enough my world went black.
