Leila's POV

Days had passed by and things were back to normal. River hadn't come out of the room, she been keeping distance. My wolf isn't liking it, but I had other things to worry about. Cole, My father, Elijah and Me had been in now my new study. Sitting at the head of the table, my father to my left and Cole and Elijah sitting at my right. Discussing our next move. The twins have been placed with the guards, working along side them. They have been keeping an eye on everything. We had gone over every bit of evidence but so far every lead is a dead end. I growled in frustration. Their were too many blank spaces in this puzzle, like things were adding up or making sense. My father hand a glass of bourbon to his side going over the papers. "Okay, what do we know? The mole is with in our pack." My father started. "The person targets low ranked members." Elijah said going over the victims ranks. "Goes for mostly Families." Cole said annoyed. "So the person has a grudge against low ranking family members? Makes no sense." I finished. My wolf wasn't helping, she wanted to be close to our mate. I had been curious as to why she hadn't gone into heat, my father had explained that because I marked her on a day the moon wasn't full, her heat will come as soon as a full moon starts. That was a week away. He advised me that I talk to her, which I would but a bit later. "Okay, I don't know about you guys," Elijah said getting up and stretching. "But I'm going to start heading out, I have my first training lesson with the teens." He said giving my father and me a slight bow. My father felt appreciated that he was still seen as an Alpha. Cole looked at him, "is Mia going to train?" Elijah pulled a file out of the names of teens training with him today. "No, she'll be training with the adults. Actually why isn't River training?" Elijah said going over the list. "I'll ask her if she wants too." I said not looking up from my laptop, going over the documents I had found on all members. "I think it would be wise for her to train, to be able to protect herself and not rely on others." Elijah said. I looked at him cocking an eyebrow out. My wolf didn't appreciate it how he was basically saying my mate couldn't protect herself. "I agree with him." My father said. I looked at him surprised. "She can't rely on someone to fight her battles, as a Luna she needs to fight her own. Against the females here." My father said crossing his arms. He had a good point. Closing my laptop, I crossed my arms and thought about it. Maybe it would be good for her to train. "Fine, I'll talk to her." I said getting up. "But I want Mia to train her." I made my point final. Cole nodded his head. "Elijah can correct them of something isn't done right." Elijah agreed and said training for the adults didn't start till about 2hrs from now.

Walking to the room Mia met me in front of the room, she was curious as to why I called her here. Cole smiled at her. Mia acknowledged it but didn't really say or do anything. River was on her phone typing fast and smiling. My eyes turning black, jealousy was pouring out of me. Wanting to know who she was texting. A vicious growl escaped me making her jump. "Who are you texting River?" I said in a deadly tone. She was scared, tears were swirling in her eyes, "No one, I was playing a word game against someone and I was wining, see.." She slowly walked up to me showing me exactly that. She was playing a word game. My eyes wouldn't change back. I held her close to me, breathing in her scent. "You are Mine. And Mine Alone. I'd kill anyone if they tried to get in between." I growled. Mia was trying to stifle a laugh, Cole was smirking. They were enjoying my jealousy outburst. River was shaking but it was like a switch went off on her, "I'm not Yours." She said loudly pushing me away. Standing a few feet away from me. "Just because you Marked me doesn't mean you Own me! You have to earn my Trust and Heart which you Haven't! You're turning barbaric and I don't like it." She said standing her ground. Mia was in shock and slowly clapped. Cole growled at her, mentally telling her to stay quiet. "No I won't stay quiet. River is right, Leila you basically ripped her out of her home and now want her to change. Things aren't like that. You're turning into your father." She said walking to stand next to River. My wolf was beyond pissed. Cole sensed it and growled at Mia. I walked right in front of Mia. Mia slightly quivered, I gave out that sense of power, dominance. "You Dare Challenge me, and judge how I should do things with my Mate?!" I somewhat yell, she knew I wasn't in control anymore, it was my Wolf. "Do I need to show you who is the Alpha here?!" I growled out again. Mia whimpered looking at Cole. He was holding himself back. He looked at her in disappointment. She lowered her head showing me her neck, Complete Submission. "My apologies Alpha, I didn't mean to step out of lines or into you and the Luna's boundaries." Mia said lowly. My wolf wanted to teach her a lesson. Part of me wanted too as well. "You may be a Great Friend of mine, but next time I won't hold back." I growled. "River you will start to train with the adults. You need to learn how to defend yourself against any female. When they sense a high ranking wolf weak, they are challenged. It's in their nature." I said upset. I knew things were going to be bad but I never excepted for her to fight out. "I don't want to train. I told you.." She didn't finish the sentence when I moved away to stand in front of her, I towered over her. "You Will Train." I growled getting my command through to her. "Mia will train you." I said looking at her, she may be my mate but that didn't mean I would take her disrespect. "Mia," I turned to look at her. She had moved next to Cole. His arms crossed looking at her upset. "You Are Not to go Easy on Her. Push her till you Think she can't take it. Her abilities are now helping her." I said commanding her. She gave me a slight bow, indicating she understood. "Training starts in 1hr." Cole said. I walked out the door. Cole following behind me. But before leaving I turned to look at River, and I wish I didn't. She had tears coming down. "I'm not as bad as you think." Was all I said before leaving out. I could faintly hear Cole talking to Mia. "How could you jump in like that in front of Her?! That's like she would jump in to judge how things should be between you and I." Cole growled. "You know I'm Right Cole! Leila wants to follow traditions and River has never been part of any of this! It isn't fair to her, Leila has changed so Much! How can you except me to sit back and do Nothing!" Mia growled. I walked back to see how it would play out. They hadn't noticed my presence. Cole had grabbed Mia by the throat, his wolf wouldn't approve for her talking to him like that. "You don't Know the Burden Leila and Me are carrying." He growled out. "You know Nothing! How she treats River is Not your Concern Mia! Learn your Place! Or I will teach it to You" Cole growled. I knew his wolf was close to shifting. I could her her sobbing. "Stop it! Your hurting her!" She yelled out as tears kept pouring out. My wolf wanted nothing more then to go comfort her but I wanted her to do something, anything to show them who is in charge. I whispered into her mind, like a faint whisper in the wind... "You are a Luna, use your command." She had stopped "As your Luna, I command you to Stop! Your Hurting your Mate!" She yelled. Cole looked at her, his wolf didn't have a choice but to listen. He let Mia go, although he wouldn't have killed her, he wanted to get his point across. "Apologies Luna." He grunted trying to get his wolf in check. Cole growled at Mia, he wasn't done with her. I walked away towards the stair case to go to the back yard. Cole was behind me, but hadn't said a word. Looking out I see Elijah train the kids. Learning to block attacks, how to handle situations. Elijah was meant for this. The kids notice me and all start running towards me laughing.  I smile as most of them surround Cole and Me. "GoodMorning Alpha Queen! GoodMorning Beta Cole!" They all said United. I smile proudly. "GoodMorning children." I said as most of the girls giggled. "They were excited when I told them you might show up." Elijah said smiling. "Is that so?" I said looking at them. They all nodded. But one stood out. A small boy was sitting on the floor behind Elijah. I frown and start walking towards him. Elijah sees him and moves to the side. The kids make way till I'm standing in front of the boy. He looked about 5 or 6. "What's wrong sweetie?" I said softly, kneeling in front of him. "I-I fell an-and I hurt me knee.." He said crying. Blood trickled down his leg. "He's a big baby... No wonder his mom left him." I heard a girl comment. That ticked my wolf. I growled in anger. I stand up and face the children. "Who said that?" I growled out. Elijah shook his head in disappointment, Cole seemed upset as well. "Answer now, or Everyone will be Doing Suicides around the Entire building." I growled. They need to know that Pack is Family. And you never talk down on Anyone. A boy not much older pushed the girl forward. "She did it!" He said. Everyone stepped a side. "Come here." I said. My eyes black and the girl shaking in fear. "I don't Ever want to hear another comment like that Again. Do I Make my Self clear?" I growled out. Makes sure she understood. "Yes Alpha Queen.." She said bowing down as tears were pouring out. I turned around and kneels in front of the boy. He kept crying, "Let me see sweetheart, I won't hurt you." I said placing my much larger hand on top of his small knee. He slightly nodded and moved his hand tears were still pouring down, the blood made it worse but it was already healing. Looking down at my black t shirt, I rip a piece of it. "Cole let me see that water." I held my hand out. He gave me the water and I soaked the cloth. "I'm going to clean it, ok?" I said gently. Cole standing behind me looking at the kid. He slightly nodded. I cleaned it gently and ripped a mother piece of my shirt and wrapped it around his knee. "All better, yah?" I said smiling. He nodded and wiped his remaining tears. "Thank you alpha." He said softly, he had the small hiccups. I handed him the water for him to drink. "Elijah, dismiss everyone. I want to have a word with this child." I said as I sat down cross legged in front of him. He started to shake in fear. "I won't hurt you, I promise." I said softly smiling at him. Elijah dismissed everyone. They left without saying a word. "Where are your parents sweetie?" I said. "I-I don't know...they left and Never came back." He hiccuped. "His parents were killed. He's an orphan." Elijah mind linked me, looking at his files. "What's your name?" I smiled at him trying to hide my pain from him. My heart broke hearing this. "Forest." He said softly, "My mommy and daddy left me... They didn't want me." He started crying again. Cole took a deep breath trying to calm himself. "Oh No baby," I said pulling him up and into my lap. "I'm sure they wanted you. One day when your a bit older I'll explain it to you. But your parents love you." I said holding him close. He sobbed as his small heart broke. "I don't have a mommy anymore. I'm all alone." He cried. "Hey look at me," I said gently grabbing his chin. Tears were falling down his round face. If he weren't crying I would have noticed he had light caramel eyes, with black scruffy hair. He had chunky cheek that anyone would love to pinch. I'm sure he had a killer smile. "You will Never be alone. I will be here... Like an older sister. Yah? I'll take care of you." I said softly as one tear fell. My heart grew for this pup. I didn't want him alone. Ever. "Really?" He said as his tears stopped. "Yes really." I smiled at him. He hugged me, I was surprised at first but responded quickly embracing him as my own. Staying that way he fell asleep quickly. Drained from everything that happened. Getting up carrying him, I turned to see River and Mia there. Mia smiled gently at me and the young pup in my arms. River had tears in her eyes smiling. Everyone had witnessed their Alpha queen show compassion to an orphaned pup. Cole hugged Mia whispering something in her ear. Seeing her nodded she smiled at me. Walking passed them, River Stopped me. "I know you aren't the mister I thought you were... You just proved it." She said smiling at me and the pup. Simply nodding at her I made my way to my Room to lay him down and tuck him in.
