Chapter 9

Fuck! We all stood frozen. I looked at River as her eyes was on everyone, burning with curiosity. "Rouges are unwanted people that step foot on our land that both Leila's and my parents own. And mates are just close people we care about on a subconscious level." Mia said looking at her. Even though the mean of mates was not that it was a start. "Oh. I didn't know your parents owned it?" River said looking at me. I gave her a short nod. "So are you going to your parents soon?" She asked looking at me. "I'm not sure. Go back to bed. I'll be there soon." I said hoping she would listen. She gave me a small nod and walked up the stairs. We all listened till the door of my room closed and she was laying in bed. "Thanks." Was all I said to Mia. "I hate that we are in bad terms Leila, please I'm sorry okay? It won't happen again." She pleaded grabbing my hand. I was tired and I wanted nothing more then to be in bed with my mate. "I forgive you. Just...don't do it again. Everyone go to bed or whatever it is you have to do." I said as I made my way up the stairs. Coming into my room, I found River sound asleep. I smiled And got into bed.

Waking up the next morning I found the bed empty, my wolf was raging inside me because she was no where in the house. I got up and saw a note on the mirror, "I had to leave, parents are back. You looked so peaceful and didn't want to wake you up. See you soon. -River" I growled angry that she left without waking me up. But understood. Sorta. Walking down the stairs Mia was sitting in the kitchen counter drinking juice. "GoodMorning Hun, you ok?" She asked looking at me. "Morning, yeah I'm okay I guess. Why?" I asked pouring myself a cup of coffee. "Well River left without telling anyone. I was awake when she left." She said. All I did was nod my head. "You want to go to the gym? It's about time I kicked your ass." She said jumping up and down trying to cheer me up. I smiled and looked at her, "You mean in the ring? I can totally whoop your ass." I said laughing. Mia laughed and we kept bickering. It was already 10:30am. "Alright, we can go get ready now and head over there." I said as I placed my empty cup in the sink. She smiled big and ran up the stairs with me behind her. We got ready and headed to my car and left for the gym.

The gym was for werewolves only since most of the equipment was designed to withstand our strength. We went down the stairs were it was the private area. The ring was empty and We could use it. I took my hoodie off and placed my phone inside my bag. I was wearing my sports bar and a pair of small shorts. Mia was wearing the similar thing as me. We climbed in and got in position. We fought till one of us was pinned. She threw a couple good hits but they lacked a little speed. Throwing my own hits and kicked I managed to pin her down. "Come Mia! You can't win!" I grunted as I held her down. Mia growled as she struggled but ended up giving up. We continued fighting till we were both covered in sweat. My wolf howled filled with Pride that she won. After we got out the ring we headed to lift weights. I was listening to my iPod as I kept pushing myself to keep lifting. Mia tapped my shoulder making me stop. "What's up?" I said looked at her breathing hard. "Come on. I'm starving." She said with her gym bag and mines in her arm. I gave her a nod and walked up the stairs. I looked at my phone and saw we had been at the gym for 4hrs. I also had a message from River. I opened it while walking with Mia.
"Hey, how's your day going?" She wrote. I smiled as I started to reply...
"Hey back. My day is going good. Came to the gym for a while now I'm heading home. How about yours sweetheart?" I replied.
"I would drive but I don't drive standard." Mia said laughing getting into the passenger seat. I shook my head and got into the drivers seat. Driving home we stopped by the diner to get some food to take home. We both ordered 2 cheeseburgers, 2 large fries, 2 small red velvet cheesecakes. We were starving. Getting home we showered and started eating in the living room. "So have you talked to River?" Mia said drinking her soda. I shook my head and kept eating. "Why? Doesn't your wolf miss her?" She asked. I stayed quiet as my wolf whimpered at the thought of her. She hadn't replied. "Yeah she does." I said. Putting my food down. Already loosing my appetite. "Aw, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to bring it up. Umm how about we go for a run?" She said getting up. "Umm nah I'm tired. I think I'm just going to go to bed and take a nap." I said getting up and grabbing the left overs and throwing them away. Walking up the stairs I threw myself in bed. Her scent was still on the covers making my wolf stir. "I want her." Sage my wolf said quietly. "Me too." Was all I said before falling asleep.
