Chapter 12

Days went by and soon it was time to leave. Waiting downstairs for everyone else to come down. We were driving 3 separate cars. The twins were going in their car, Elijah was going in his car and Cole, Mia, and my Mate would go in Mines. "Guys come on! We got to hit the road soon!" I yelled out. We still had to pick up my mate. A smile creeped up on me. I was beyond happy to have her. But I couldn't shake off this bad feeling I had. Whatever it was I would protect my mate. Mia came running down with 2 duffle bags. "You packed for 4 days?" I said looking at that bags then her. "Wait what? I thought it was 3?" She said dropping them on the ground. "Well on the 4th day I'm having a last minute meeting with my father. Just for a bit." I said going through my phone. My mate had texted me.
"I'm ready, let me know when you're on your way baby."
I smiled at how she called me baby. "I should be straight with what I packed. Why does Cole have to ride with Us? Why can't he go with Eli?" She whined again. That's all she had been complaining about these past few days. "Look! I don't know and I have no time for that." I growled annoyed. I grabbed my 2 bags and headed for the car. "Damn... Someone is PMSing" she mumbled.
Walking to my car I popped the trunk open and threw my bags. Mia came by my side and did the same. Walking towards the drivers seat I waiting for the boys to come out. They wanted to stay over to make the trip easier. Cole came out in a black shirt and some washed jeans. He looked good. I knew Mia was looking at him but tried to distract herself. Elijah came out with a white shirt and some black pants. He smiled at me and walked to his car. The twins came out last. Blake was wearing a grey button up shirt with some dark jeans. While Jonathan was wearing a black button up shirt and dark jeans. Blake came up to me smiling. "Today feels good, don't you think?" He said. "Yeah? I guess so. What's got you in a good mood?" I said looking at him weirdly. "I don't know, I just feel good." He said smiling down at me. With that he started to walk towards his car. I brushed it off not paying any mind to it. Cole was putting his bags in my car while Mia got in the passenger seat. "I'm sitting up front." She said sitting down. "Yeah only till River gets here." I said starting up the car. Cole sat in the back lost in thought. I pulled out my garage and started to drive towards River's place. "Hey call her, and tell her we are 2mins away." I told Mia. From the corner of my eye I saw her nod and take my phone out. Dialing her phone number, it took a while for River to answer. Frowning I pulled up to her house. The guys parked behind me. I took my phone back and got out the car. "Where is she?" Jonathan said getting out his car. I shrugged and walked up to her door step. Knocking I tried to hear if anyone was home. Till her mother opened. "Hey sweetie. What brings you here?" She said kindly. "I'm here for River? We are supposed to be leaving for a trip." I told her. The guys and Mia where at the bottom of the stairs waiting. "River? She's asleep in her room. She hasn't said anything about a trip. Come in." She gestured me to go in. "I'll be back." I told the guys. They nodded and went to stand by their cars.
Walking to her room I opened it to find her asleep. Coming in and closing the door I went to sit by her. "Baby, wake up. We leaving for the trip." I told her, shaking her gently. She turned around and looked at me. Something was off. "I'm not going. Thought you got my message." She said. Her voice held no emotions. I frowned. "Why not? I mean you were excited for it." I told her. My wolf was pacing inside me. "I don't want to go. So just go. I'll see you when you get back. Or whenever." She said turning around to face the wall. I stood up getting angry. "What's wrong? Did I do something for you to change your mind?" I said trying to hold a growl. "The door is right there. Leave." She said. That's when I lost it. Sage took over. All I could do was watch.

*3rd POV*
Leila grabbed River by the arms turning her around and held her against her chest. "Wh-What are you doing?!" She whimpered. Little did she know that wasn't Leila anymore. Her eyes were pure black now and her canines were out. A fierce growl ripped from her chest. "Marking what's mine." She said. And with that she sunk her teeth into her neck. Piercing her skin, River screamed out in pain. Trying to push Leila away but was held tight. Slowly her strength was slipping away. Soon River closed her eyes falling asleep. Sage licked her mark. Cole and Elijah bursts through the door. "What did you do?!" Cole said angry. Sage paid no mind to it, admiring her mate that was now laying in bed sleeping. Turning around Elijah scoffed, "Sage." He said simply. "You marked her, now you two are Bound to each other." Cole said shaking his head. "What's going on?" Her mother said looking frantic. Her eyes went to her daughter then Leila. "You marked her?" She whispered. "Yes I did. Like Leila should have done when she first saw her. She needs to know I'm her Mate and to Not be disrespected." Sage growled. "I will Not Tolerate being disrespected by Anyone. Do I make myself clear?" Sage growled using her Alpha voice. Cole and Elijah bowed their head showing their submission. "Yes alpha." The said together. Her mother bowed as well. "River isn't allowed to leave this house for 4 days. If I find out she has, there will be consequences." She growled out. "Yes Alpha." Her mother said showing submission. Walking out, Cole and Elijah followed her out. Blake, Jonathan and Mia were in alert. They heard everything. Now they knew Sage would be in control till Leila broke through. "Alpha." The 3 said submitting to her. Now it would be one Hell of a trip.
