-Aurora Jones' Point of View-
As soon as we arrived to Harry's hou-mansion, I noticed the lights inside were still on. I'm guessing Harry's parents were waiting on him?
My parents expected me home around one in the morning and it's barely twelve, so I still have a good hour to kill. To say I'm surprised about that is still, and will always be, an understatement. I find it hard to believe my father could trust someone like Harry ...then again, he doesn't act like the real Harry in front of my parents, so I can't exactly blame my father.
Harry cursed, "Dammit, why can't he just go to bed?!" He snapped.
I cocked a brow, "Your dad?" I asked.
He scoffed, making a disgusting face, "No! God, no! Never call him my father, again. He's my mother's husband. They recently got married, which is why he moved in with us. He never seems to leave me alone and always gets on my ass about coming home late."
I wasn't sure what was so bad about his stepdad worrying about him. Harry has some serious issues to go over and fix, there's a lot more to him than people see and I'm sure he's good at hiding it.
I guess I really shouldn't be judging, I know how hard it is dealing with a parent's remarriage. It's not easy at first, but you learn to live with it. I guess Harry hasn't gotten to the "learning to live with it" part.
I cocked a brow, "I'm sorry...?"
He lead me to the front door and let me inside, "I was wondering when you'd get home. Your mother was worried because you didn't call." A man, who looked to be in his mid or late forties, spoke.
Harry shrugged, "I forgot, where's mom?"
"I told her to go to bed, she looked exhausted. Try to-Harry, what in the world happened to you?!" Harry's stepdad shouted.
I could see nothing but worry in his eyes, he acted like Harry had just been hit by a car... luckily it was just Carter. Wow, he really did care for his sarcastic, ignorant, asshole of a stepson.
"Some guy was bothering Aurora, so I acted. Nothing to worry about." He shrugged, sliding off his coat.
Harry turned to me and lead me into the living room, "Can you wait here while I go get cleaned up? I won't take long."
I nodded, "Sure."
Harry didn't say anything else before climbing up the stairs and disappearing around a corner.
"I'm guessing you're Aurora? It's nice to finally meet one of the girls Harry brings home." He smiled.
Hearing this kinda surprised me. I knew he was the kind to jump from girl to girl and or sleep around, I just didn't think his parents would actually know about it.
Did he bring girls while his parents were home? How could he do something so inappropriate and disgusting?! I know he doesn't really care about things, but that's just way too embarrassing to do.
"My apologies, I probably shouldn't have said that. I'm Robin Twist, Harry's stepfather. " he smiled, extending his hand for me to shake.
I took it and nodded, "It's nice to meet you, Mr. Twist." I smiled.
We each sat on opposite couches and did our best not to make things awkward ...which we ended up doing. It's hard not to make it awkward when he probably thinks Harry and I are dating. He hasn't exactly said it, but I'm pretty sure he's thinking it.
"Can I ask you something? How exactly did this happen?" He asked.
I sighed, "I got too carried away helping a girl from some guys and Harry had to step in to help me. It's my fault this happened and I'm terribly sorry to cause you to worry about him."
