Aurora Jones.

After practically screaming in my father's face, I noticed Harry place a hand on my shoulder. A light shade of pink could be seen on his cheeks... was he blushing? I mean I know I just said I loved him in front of my dad, but I didn't think it would make him this flushed.

"Mr. Jones, I-I can assure you that I'm not that kind of guy. Aurora even got me to stop smoking, so why the hell would I get involved with such a horrible drug when I know exactly how, both, my mother and Aurora would feel about it?" He sighed.

Harry ran his hand through his soft, curly hair. His teeth practically digging into his lip. I wish he'd stop being so nervous. I know he has so much respect for my dad, but we all know he's innocent. He has nothing to be worried about.

My father continued to look at Harry before finally speaking, "You don't have to explain yourself to me, son. I know what's going on. I know what happened to Aurora with those boys. We've been after them for months, so this could actually help us." He smiled.

Wait, did he mean the twins? Did he honestly know what happened and refused to even bring it up to me? Wow, my father has more control than I thought.

Harry stepped in front of me, facing my father, "Sir, I just want to apologize for that. I never meant for them to take it this far, I swear I did everything I could to protect Aurora and my best friend. I would never allow such idiotic people to hurt her, never."

I reached over and grabbed his hand. I knew what happened wasn't his fault, it wasn't any of our faults. We had no idea that was going to happen, it's obvious the twins are the ones at fault here and all for a stupid little confrontation! How childish can they be?! Even so, I know Harry still blamed himself for everything that's happened. As much as I try to convince him nothing was his fault, his stubbornness proceeds to ignore my words.

Dad smiled, "Thank you, son. I'm sorry I couldn't be of help, since I was doing my best to record your call, but I swear I made sure all of you were safe."

The fact that my father was actually being genuine surprised me. If I was at risk in any way with my ex, let's say getting chased by bees all the way home, my father would've lost his mind. Of course he liked him, but he was just a lot stricter with him than he is with Harry.

Harry cocked a brow, "What exactly do you mean by that?"

My dad sighed, "I heard about your first encounter with those twins through that blog you young kids are always reading." He began to explain.

You young kids? Way to make yourself sound centuries old, dad.

He continued, "I've been investigating those guys for a few months now, so I decided to follow your every move when it came to being near the twins."

Dad looked over at Harry, "I overheard you on the phone, that day. I called my tech to record your call and it's exactly what we wanted. Of course I was furious at what they were doing to Aurora, but I knew you had it covered. So I simply just watched and made sure no one was hurt, while I also got the evidence I needed." He explained, before leading us outside the room.

"So let me get this straight.." I spoke up. "You knew what was happening, ever since the fight with the twins and you didn't even think of bringing it up to me?!"

He chuckled, "It was apart of a case, I couldn't tell you anything no matter how bad I wanted to. Even if I could, I was way too busy making the necessary preparations. I presented my evidence and managed to get a warrant just in time to prove your innocence, son."
