Summer/Ben from Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs is May/Brendan's child.
Okay, I know this sounds ridiculous since these are both completely separate canons and areas of the Pokémon universe, but hear me out.
*please note this more about ORAS than RSE*
So in the Ranger Universe, Pokémon are more allies than pets or uses for battling. To even capture a Pokémon, you have to express feelings of friendship-transmitted through your Styler-in order to show you are trustworthy and a friend. In Guardian Signs, you're only given one single Pokémon as your Partner Pokémon (Ukulele Pichu). Partner Pokémon are Pokémon that the Ranger have bonded with and share a very deep connection. Most of the full extent of a Pokémon's power is expressed through the bond.
On another side, Mega Evolution is mainly unlocked by a Trainer who has a deep and unbreakable bond between a Pokémon, mainly expressed through a Mega Stone.
Could there be some tie between these bonds?
Throughout Guardian Signs, the playable character is said to be the Hero of Oblivia, having a bond that can go back centuries ago with Pokémon (mainly legendaries) that are never seen in the same light as they are in present time Oblivia. This bond is actually used to summon such Pokémon as Ho-Oh, Suicune, Raikou, Entei, and Latios/Latias, depending on gender. Now doesn't that sound familiar?...
Oh yes, you're able to find either Latios or Latias, depending on your game in ORAS! But isn't really cool how you could fly ON them? But guess what? You could do the same exact thing in Guardian Signs by summoning Latios/as!
Not only to mention how the Hoenn region is half water based and half land based, while Oblivia is many connected islands where both land and water used together. And how there are similarities in their looks...
This theory isn't provided with much, but it is a pretty out of the box one. But we have seen Rangers in the normal Pokémon Universe, so is it really a long stretch?
