Gray's POV
Everyone left at the guild heard what happened at Lucy's place. Gramps had apparently underestimated the season, but has since buffed up security. No dragon slayers, Fairy Tail or Sabertooth, are allowed out, except Wendy and even she is only allowed out as long as a more powerful member of Fairy Tail is with her. For the most part, Juvia's taken on that job. They mostly carry messages back and forth and Erza had joined Lily and Master in guarding the slayers. When the translation group arrived at the guild around noon the next day, they all looked completely exhausted and very grim. Lucy was limping and there were red marks on her arms. I caught her eye and nodded towards her arms.
"He wasn't...in control of himself." She answered. Juvia grabbed my arm and gave Lucy her "Love Rival" look.
Levy sat down at a table, cradling the journal and a couple of papers. Wendy sat down across from her and set a communication lacrima down with a clunk. Erza was visible but the room behind her was blurry. Everyone else filled in the remaining seats or crowded around.
"Well?" Erza asked.
"We finished translating." Levy looked even more tired up close; there were huge bags under her eyes. Her two lackeys gave her concerned looks and she gave them a tired smile in response. "Ahem." She began to read right where she left off. "But I'll talk more about that later. Right now, I'll go into more detail about the next few stages. Understandably, the longer a male goes without recognizing a female, the more powerful female competition will be. Even after a female is picked, she may consider another female enough of a threat to attack. Most of the time, females are satisfied with chasing another off, but sometimes beat their rival to the brink of, or to, death."
"Wait, does this mean just female dragon slayers or all females?" Evergreen asked.
"Not sure, but given how we all acted, I'd say it's probably all of us in some way." Mira said tiredly.
"Males, however, are rarely satisfied with scaring a rival into submission."
"Here we go." I groan.
"If two males are truly competing, mauling rivals to the death is commonplace. Once the potential rivals are out of the picture, either scared off or dead, the dragon pair begins a courtship ritual, similar to-"

"-similar to flirting, and serves as the precursor to the actual mating. The highlight of the ritual is the dragons Marking one another as a show of possessiveness. Marking is a general term and can refer to actual marking on the skin or an exchange of special objects and/or promises. As you, the reader, might be around slayers, their mates, or both at some point, I have compiled a general rundown of behaviors to watch for.
In the beginning:
•Slayers will - find that their senses will have become even more sensitive, leading to headaches and nausea until he or she has adjusted.
•Mates will - act slightly out of character around them. This occurs in other people around the slayers as well, but it's most obvious in the mates. As time progresses:
•Slayers will - act hostile towards anyone not in their inner circle and be extremely aggressive/violent towards those they already didn't like.
• Both slayers and the mates - become extremely sensitive towards one person's scent or perfume/cologne and the slayers are be drawn to their mates like a magnet.
• Both slayers and the mates will - act very jealous and angry if anyone the same sex as they approaches their slayer/mate.
• Slayers will -become extremely protective around their person and worry constantly when they're not around.
