*Adam's POV*

The ride home was a bit awkward. Tommy and I sat in the back seat and my mom was driving her car since mine was totaled.

"So," she stated. "What exactly happened?" She looked at me through the rear view mirror for a second and then back at the road, driving to the store to pick up what we need for dinner.

"Well," I said. I wasn't really sure what to say so I looked over at Tommy for help.

"A squirrel ran across the road and Adam swerved to avoid hitting it," he added.

"The guy on the lane over was drunk and he was moving into our lane," I finished. Mom looked at me again as we pulled into the parking lot of the grocery store.

"Okay, but I would like for you two to stay here. You need to rest your head." She smiled at me and exited the car.

I rubbed my head to pretend a headache was coming on. I groaned and put face in my hands. I think she heard me and she came back into the car.

"Adam, do you something else for your head?" I nodded and she left for a final time.

Tommy looked at me and I smirked.

"That should give us some more time." I raised my eyebrows at him.

"To do what?" he smiled.

"I don't know, talk?"

He shifted towards me and sat crossed legged on the seat. "I don't think that's what you had in mind."

I turned my head toward him and said, "Oh, so YOU'RE the eye reader now?"

"What if I am?"

Great, another challenge. This kid's full of them isn't he? "Then what do my eyes say now?" I moved so I was facing and I looked at him with the most intense stare I could muster.

He seemed intimidated at first but he stood his ground.

"I see pain...sorrow...and a hint of love." He smiled at that last part.

Shit, he's better than I thought. Maybe he's got my gift too. "Damn, you're good." He blushed a deep, crimson red.

"Dammit Adam. You seriously gotta stop making me blush. I swear, karmas gonna get back at you."

"So if I have this whole 'karma' thing right, I get the same thing done to me as I did to someone else, right?"

"Yeah," he said with curiosity.

"So if I make you blush, does that mean that you would make ME blush?" Yes, I already know he can make me blush the quickest, the longest, and the deepest of any person I know, but I know I can make him blush too.

Just like now. He wore that deep red color very well and it multiplied his cuteness.

"I don't know," he sighed, scooting a bit closer. "Do I make you blush?" He lifted his hand and brought it up to my face, moving my hair back so he could see the cut on my head, and so he could see me blush better.

"I say yes," he smiled.

I sighed, shaking my head and his hand slipped from my face, "I feel so bad I did this to you though." His smile disappeared.

"Tommy, you did not cause that crash to happen. And besides, I'm fine, nothing's wrong." The amount of relief I had when I opened my eyes and saw Tommy alright was overwhelming.

I didn't care if I would suffer, but there was no way that it was his fault in my opinion.

"Yes I did," He frowned, lifting his hand and moved his fingers like feathers over the bandage, being careful not to hurt me. Then quickly dropping his hand into his lap.
