*Tommy's POV*

The early sun shone bright through the thin green fabric of our tent. Partially-humid air filled my lungs with a faded salty scent. I opened my eyes to Adam's stunning crystals. He smiled back at me, rubbing my back where his hand was placed, holding me tight. I grinned back at him. It's unworldly to wake up to such beauty. I am so lucky...

"Morning," he whispered.

"Good morning."

Our lips brushed briefly, ghosting our breath around our faces in an accidental half-kiss. A wave of heat flushed through me.

"I love you," I said, blushing faintly.

"I love you, too." He kissed me shortly, sweetly. Butterflies flew into my cage of a stomach. "You wanna get up?" he asked, loosening his grip slightly.

"Sure." His hands released me completely and an empty feeling washed over me, leaving me with a strange cool touch. I couldn't even imagine what having him really gone would be like.

We both stretched and he left so I could get changed. When I was done, we switched places. I let the warmth of the morning cover me. The rays of light were just peaking over the tree canopy. I rubbed my eyes. This was probably earliest I've woken up. Smelling something delicious, I followed my nose to the source. Leila was cooking eggs and bacon over a portable burner that was set above the fire. I stepped over to her side, greeting her with a smile.

"Did you sleep well, Tommy?" she asked motherly.

I nodded. "Yeah, for sleeping on the ground," I joked.

She grinned and handed me a plate of food. I thanked her and brought myself to the worn out wooden bench that was placed a few feet away. I stared to munch hungrily at the bacon when Neil emerged from his tent looking fully rested. He looked in my way before continuing his way to his mom and grabbing some for himself. He sat diagonally across from me, nodding his head up once. I returned the gesture and continued eating.

The girls were the next to rise, followed soon by Adam. I couldn't help but smile when I saw him. Without any make-up, wearing simple clothes, combed and natural hair, and relaxed attitude, Adam was in his true element-and he was perfect.

Before long, they too had their breakfast. After everybody had their first few bites of tastiness, the silence broke.

"Okay, before I forget," Adam stated, directing it to the girls, "what were you two doing last night?"

The relatives glanced at each other with guilty smiles.

"Sorry," they said in unison.

"Yeah, we just got bored," added Rose.

"Uh-huh." Adam sighed, laughing to himself. "Now, besides scaring the life out of Tommy," he winked at me, "what do you say we should do for today?" he asked to all of us.

I shrugged, picking up a piece of meat. "What's there to do?"

"Oh, oh! I know!" clapped Allyson. "Mini-golf!"

Everyone mutually agreed. When breakfast was over, we headed off.

When we walked, Adam and I were hand-in-hand, Rose and Allyson on my side. And, unfortunately, Neil to Adam's right. He glanced at our laced fingers, scoffed, rolled his eyes, and then looked forward again. I really don't see why he just had to come.

I mean, he could've stayed back and did his own thing, right? He's a big boy now at thirteen. Why does he have to tag along with his 17-year-old brother? But... even though his smart mouth gets pretty annoying and irritating, it's fun to make him ticked off.
