*Adam's POV*
-Wednesday after school-
School let out and I was walking with Tommy and Rose to my car. My mom was still a little nervous about me driving, but I convinced her to let me, under the conditions she knows where I'm going and that I call her when I get there. Talk about a leash. But my head was bandaged up lightly and I was on pain meds so I was fine.
Tommy got in the passenger seat and Rose sat in the middle of the backseat. I started to drive out of the lot.
"So where are we going exactly?" I asked to both of them. They were supposed to think of a place where we could hang out for a while.
"We were thinking of The Café," Rose replied. The Café was this little restaurant where some kids came to study or just chill.
I nodded and drove there.
We arrived shortly and I parked to the side. Not that anyone recognized the car as mine, but I just didn't want certain people to see, just in case. It was sad that I had to do that because some people are idiots.
I held the door open for my friend and boyfriend (yes, we are a couple. Isn't it exciting?! Wow, I am such a dork...). The sweet smell of coffee filled the air. I looked around at the nearly empty place, except for an old woman and her husband.
The walls were colored in crèmes and browns like the drinks themselves. Windows let the afternoon sun shine in, making no use for the dangling lights over every table. Tommy picked a booth, right up against a window near the back. He scooted on one side and I sat next to him. Rose sat across from us.
She was grinning with a look of satisfaction, like she predicted Tommy and I would be together. Come on, honestly I didn't even see that coming so I knew she couldn't have; it's just her nature to feel like the match-maker of any relationship. I just rolled my eyes at her.
A short waitress, about our age, with long brown hair came up to us and handed us menus. We thanked her and she walked back behind the counter. Rose and I set ours down, since we already knew what we were having. Tommy was looking over his in concentration. He let out a sigh of frustration.
"How do you guys pick so fast?" his voice came from behind the menu.
We chuckled a bit. "We come here all the time," I said.
He looked up at me. "Oh. Well what are you having?" he asked and batted his eyelashes.
I laughed some more. "A caramel upside down latte with cream." I replied quickly.
He raised his eyebrows some. "Hmm. Well, I guess me too!" he said.
"So predictable..." Rose mumbled under her breath with a sly smile.
"What?" I asked, playing stupid. I'll get her for that later.
"Nothing," she lied with a dumfounded face. She changed the subject, "So anyway, you guys should come to the play on Friday. I'm Juliet," she said, her voice triumphant.
I and Tommy nodded our heads. "That's awesome, Rose!" I exclaimed.
"I know, right! But I can get you guys reserved seat tickets for the casts' guests. I have three. I'll give you yours, and my cousin the other one. Oh! They also get you into the after party." Rose was so excited for this, I could tell.
"I would love to go!"
"Me too!" Tommy piped in.
"Great!" she said with a bug smile.
"So..." I was about to ask her who Romeo was until I glanced at Tommy. He was staring at the door with a slightly confused face.
I followed his look to it. A girl about Tommy's height with brown hair, blonde underneath, walked through. She was wearing a pink shirt and black sweatpants. She seemed oddly familiar. The girl faced the door again, obviously waiting for someone. I looked at Tommy and his eyes were wide. Could he know who that is?
