*Tommy's POV*
I dreamt of me and Adam that night. Sweet, sweet dreams.
I woke up smiling, realizing that I was in Adam's bed. I rolled over to get out and put my feet down and stepped on something. More like someone.
I looked down. "Adam?" He was crunched up and was sweating a little bit. Probably a nightmare.
"Adam? Come on wake up." I shook his shoulder gently and he jolted up breathing heavy with wide eyes.
"Are you okay?" He glanced at me then rubbed his eyes.
"Yeah." He seemed to be really dazed. I checked the clock; it was only 6:00.
"Do you want something for you head?"
"Yeah." He smiled weakly and used the bed to help himself stand. I stood up next to him and let him use me to keep himself up.
"Rough night?" I asked.
"Nightmare," he said, "and that crash is really getting to me. My head is pounding."
I started to help him walk to the bathroom to where his pain medication was. "Well you should've waken me up so you could sleep on your bed, I wouldn't mind the floor. This IS your house."
I leaned against the wall as he searched for the pills his mom gave him in the car.
He found them and faced me, trying to open them.
"I wouldn't have done that, you needed to sleep. And I didn't mind." He finally got it and popped to in his mouth and swallowed them dry. He turned around and put them back in their place.
Hearing footsteps coming from the hall, I cocked my head towards the door and suddenly Neil came running into the bathroom.
"Adam!" he yelled.
Adam whipped his head to the side and slammed his head into the cabinet door with a thud.
"Ah, god dammit Neil!" he shouted, grimacing in pain. The seventh grader ran out of the room without another word, laughing to himself.
He groaned and started to sway. I held him by his shoulders, making sure he wouldn't topple over.
"Maybe you should stay home today, Adam," I suggested.
"What about the audition?" he whimpered. I knew he wanted to make it bad.
"I'll go in and tell Miss Mook what happened and try and work something out so you could try out another time when you are better." I smiled, attempting to convince him to stay home and get better.
"But I don't want you to be there alone." His grey-blue eyes locked with my brown. He was scared, and I have to admit, I was a little bit too.
"I'll be fine," I lied, hoping my eyes didn't show it. "I just think you would be better off taking a day to rest your head." He reluctantly nodded and I helped him back to his bedroom and onto his bed.
"I'm going to go get your mom," I said as I started towards the door. I walked into the kitchen, hoping to see her, and I did.
"Morning, Tommy," she perked, sipping her coffee at the table.
"Morning, Leila," I said, standing next to her. I really wish I had some coffee for myself, it smelled so good and I definitely would need some more energy to get through the day.
"Where's Adam?" she asked. I snapped out of my small trance.
"He's in his room. He hit his head and he said he wasn't feeling too well. He asked me to come and get you."
