*Tommy's POV*
-Dinner at Adam's house-
I was still smiling ever since I entered Adam's room, especially after we almost kissed. I could only imagine what it would've been like if our lips touched...
As Mrs. Lambert set down our food I was pulled out of my trance.
"It looks great, Mrs. Lambert," I smiled.
She smiled back at me. "Oh thank you honey, but please, call me Leila." She took Neil's plate and put some spaghetti on it and he licked his lips with wide eyes.
The next to grab some was Mr. Lambert (asked to be called Eber) then Leila. Adam looked at me, so I assumed it was my turn. I never had a dinner like this where everybody was all sitting together and sharing a home cooked meal. Dinner at my house was either take-out or we would go through the drive-through and eat in separate rooms. I really loved how this was going.
We were starting to eat when Eber began to talk. "Tommy," he began. I looked up at him. "We haven't heard about you yet. How long have you lived around here?"
I swallowed what was in my mouth. "Oh, uh, I have been here since the beginning of this school year." He nodded slowly.
I didn't know if I should say anything else so I continued eating. It just tasted so good to have a full meal for once and I was eating it up, literally. I wasn't making a mess, but I was scarfing it down, savoring every tasteful bite.
"Do you like it?" Adam chuckled.
I blushed a deep red and swallowed what was in my stuffed cheeks and awkwardly took a sip of my water.
"Mhm..." I smiled. "It really is very good Leila," I said to her.
"It's about time someone recognized my cooking skills," she joked. "So, Tommy, how did you and Adam meet?" Adam shot her a 'not now' look.
I was not ready for this. Was it weird that I was here after a day? I decided to stick to the truth.
"We met in theater," I said. That was all I could manage at the moment.
"Oh, so you act?"
"Well, not a lot. At my old school I was an extra in a play, but I mostly play guitar or bass."
Adam turned to me with a shocked look. "You never told me that you played," he said.
"Yeah, it never really came up." I shrugged.
"Well... that gives me an idea," he said to himself, although I could hear him.
"Do you write songs?" Leila asked.
"No, I just play."
"Adam writes. You two should think of a song together!" she smiled, pleased with her idea.
"That sounds great!" Adam exclaimed. "After dinner we should go up to my room and start on it." He smiled and tilted his head. I knew exactly what he meant.
Apparently so did Neil...
"I don't think THAT'S what you will be doing up there!" he said, puckering up his lips and making kissing noises at Adam. I blushed an even deeper color and look down at my plate.
"OW!" he yelled. Adam kicked him from under the table.
"Shut up Neil!" Adam yelled back, blushing a light pink.
"Adam!" his mom yelled at him.
"But-!"
"No buts! He was only kidding around, now apologize," she said.
