*Tommy's POV*
"You think you broke me?" I sneered in a whisper. By the looks of it, he had, but on the inside...well he had, but I was recently redeemed when I had met Adam. Sweet serendipity had finally caught up to me and held me in its arms.
"You think you know me now?" The lingering flame of hatred towards Charlie was burning hotter, scarring deeper.
Sparking in an intense surge it was on the verge of exploding, and I am not sure if I can hold back anymore. I stared daggers into him. My one hand was still resting on Adam's face; the touch of his skin is the only thing keeping me in reality.
He rolled his eyes. "I know you now Tommy, just like I knew you before. You're still the same, weak little boy that doesn't know how to take care of himself," he replied nonchalantly.
Is he really going say he knows me? Oh that just sent me over the edge!
He was so wrong. I am stronger than most people think. Before I was weak and cowardly, but realizing how defenseless I was against my life I decided to make a change and start sticking up for myself. It really started when I saw what the real Stan was, and it got more intense after I moved here...
A mix of different emotions came sprawling out of me as I lunge my right fist forward, making hard contact with the side of his jaw.
*Rose's POV*
I finally gave up looking for Miss Mook after I searched the whole theater and the music rooms. She probably had gone to get some supplies from her car, so I went to find Allyson at the nurse's office. As I headed down the hall, I began to get worried for Adam's sake. I loved Adam like a brother, but something far inside of my chest said differently, that I loved him the other way.
I shook my head. This is not the time to be thinking about that.
Then again, it's almost the perfect time to. Seeing someone you care about be in danger (or in my case, faint) really makes you think about your true feelings. I have pushed aside my emotions for Adam as soon as he had told me he was gay.
I wasn't being fair to myself to let my heart feel something for someone who could never think of me like that. And that was only one of my problems. Issue number 2 was that he had a boyfriend, and he is my new friend. Tommy deserves him though. Adam is just so happy when he's around him. That is definitely a side of him I miss seeing so regularly.
I veered right down the second hallway crossing I came across. I looked up from my feet and saw Allyson and the older of the two nurses coming in my direction. Allyson sped up to catch up with me and I was soon headed the same way I had just come from.
"You find Miss Mook?" Allyson asked.
I shook my head once. "No. That's why I'm here."
She nodded in agreement. "So how is he?"
I shrugged. I didn't really stay long enough to see what kind of condition he was in. I mean, he was with Tommy and Charlie, so what could happen, anyways?
Apparently a lot.
The piercing scream of a shrill girl voice echoed down the hall, originating from the auditorium. I instantly started running and my cousin was in close pursuit. Mrs. Glen (the nurse), on the other hand, was shuffling her frail old body along, holding medical supplies in one hand that seemed to be weighing her down to her left.
I tried to stop too abruptly, only causing myself to slide on the pale terrazzo floor and fall on my butt. Allyson carefully helped me up and we swung the door open. The scene unfolding in front of my eyes was not one I expected to see...ever.
