~Mor~ ~Morgiana...~Find the golden shackles!~ ~Hehehe!~
"Hhh!" I gasped as i woke up to the boys voice.
"Hey! Lady! Are you gonna move, or what?!" A rude man's voice cut off my day-dream.
I must have rolled over into the drinking hole, because i could feel dampness already soaking inside my clothes.
"Oh.. oh ya! Im sorry.." I yelped as i realized i was drooling on his foot from the dream.
I had slept all throught the night, waking up at sunrise, it looked like.
And...my stuff was gone. Great, the 4$, .. great.
"~...and thats how you find the great, golden, shackles..~" A womens voice interupted my panic.
I rushed over to her and asked what she was singing.
"What? Your mama never sing you the tale of the shackles?" Obviously she was a former slave. Whip marks covered her ams and legs.
She was lucky to have gotten away.
"No ma'ma.. i have no mother." I responded werily.
"Well then, i'll tell ya." And the women explained a story of old. Nothing i hadnt heard a million times before from books, stories about dungeons, genies, magi, and labyrinths.
"This is a story of a young slave girl, from long, long ago. She had been enslaved, and her family killed.
"However, the lord of that land had fallen in love with her, and she with him. He wished they could be together, but there was nothing he could do; so the girl had been desperate, and had wished upon a star.
"Now this is no ordanary star, no! It was a star, or a floating woman. She had been pittied on by the magi of love, and kindness. The magi told her to go into a dungeon, and that she would guide her. But the girl was a slave, not even those could go into the magical dungeons, from which few emerged, alive.
"..So, the magi left, and a few days later, returned with a piece of gold. Just a rock, but enough to buy her freedom. But instead of giving it to her, the magi fashioned it into metal slave shackles. The girl was stunnded, and confused.
"The magi told her it could grant any wish, any desire." .. The old, tired woman paused.
"..But, the slave girl, had wanted her freedom, and wanted riches more than love. And so she wished, and was granted so by the shackles. And she was happy."
"..But the magi had found out that her heart had been stolen by greed, and so she undid the wish, and hid the shackles, seeing that no other human seemed fit to hold it..."
"Sorry.. thats all i know. But some say that the shackles still exist, and some say that other magi hide it from humans, so they never know evil, or greed."
"..Thank you, miss..?" I paused not knowing her name.
"...no need. I really dont see myself to deserve a name." She smiled sadly, and continued sweeping and singing that song.
"And the girl, was neeeever found... no the girl...... was never found.~"
I walked out of the bazaar wondering about the shackles, and about the magi's, if they had really hid them.
"Magi, huh?" I wondered aloud as i wondered the desert alone.
By the time i arrived in the city of akmade, i was humming that lonely song. In the distance, i could see a huge tower, maybe a palace? I wondered.
I walking into Akmade feeling pride, a new life!
"A fresh start!" I said to myself. No magic, dungeons, or magi!
