*Four years later*
The strong alpha had never been seen the same way, in the same condition, he was trying so hard not to cry. Xavier Daniels, the most feared alpha of his days, a grown man. Holding back a sob infront of his whole pack, as they stood there in silence. Dead silence. The man looked at the black casket infront of him, breathing out as he placed a rose on the top of it. The alpha male quickly collected himself, his eyes turning their now normal black again. With his black, cold eyes he put on a straight face as the beast churned inside him again. A slight growl erupted from the males chest, the growl was loud catching every persons attention.
Xavier walked up to the podium to say something about his beloved mate, Lacey, who had passed years before. He sighed and looked at his pack members, Xavier then looked at the board that had pictures of his mate. She looked so happy, and joyful, in the pictures and it made him a bit sad. But it mostly made him angry at himself, he'd been blaming himself and others for her death. He was no longer upset though, from the moment her heart stopped. Xavier was enraged, becoming a heartless beast now he only cared for one. Evaline Daniels. His beautiful daughter, his eyes fell on her in his beta female's arms. The four year old was looking up at her daddy as she sat in her aunt's, Maria, lap. Tears ran down the woman's cheeks as she held her niece, looking at the casket that contained her dead best friend.
"My mate. She was different, she deserved to stay." Xavier's voice said in a tone with an emotion unknown. "She didn't deserve that, and now that she's gone" he trailed slightly, "so is the old me. Things are going to be a lot different around here." Xavier said his voice holding finality.
"I think it's time for a few new rules. First of all, there will be no more additions to the pack. If you find your mate in different pack or your mate is not a member. You have to leave. No exemptions. If you betrayed me, you will be punished appropriately." The alpha boomed scaring his daughter a bit. He nodded at his beta female who took his daughter out of the room. "And finally, my daughter shall not be touched. If any of you so much as look at her the wrong way I will kill you, brutally and without hesitation. Also she is always above all of you, you shall address her with respect. All of you will put her life before yours, or I will not hesitate to rip you apart and kill you. This goes for all of you." The alpha snarled dangerously, his chimes extending. Xavier bared his teeth, showing how dangerously and dead serious he was. The whole pack nodded in petrified fear, "AM I CLEAR?!?" The alpha yelled ferociously, slamming his hand down on the metal. The metal podium broke a piece fell infront of the stage, "yes alpha!" The pack shouted in unison. The fear clear in their voices, the way Xavier liked it. "Good, you're all dismissed. Get back to work." He ordered pulling a metal piece out of his flesh with ease. Xavier tossed the bloody piece of metal to the ground as some stared at him. He shot them a cold glare, and then they all finally scurried off. They all feared their alpha, more than normal pack members, because Xavier has been more cruel since the death of Lacey.
The alpha walked out of the room, his beta following, Adam and Xavier met Maria in the hallway. She was sitting on a bench while the little girl cried into her shirt. Xavier's heart almost cracked at the sight of his daughter crying. Almost. Though he couldn't help but sadden at the sight, not showing it, of course. The alpha bent down to the little girl, in the woman's lap.
His eyes softened once again to the beautiful light Carmel brown they used to be. The color they were before his mate's death, the only did that around his daughter, now though. "Sweetheart, what's the matter?" The male softly spoke to his daughter. Lifting her off the woman's lap and into his own with ease. The little girl shuddered as she sobbed, not looking at her dad, the four year old didn't look at him at all.
