Chapter 1

Hey guys, SO sorry I didn't update yesterday, I was very sick and I had a mission trip and couldn't go on wattpad a lot, so I hope I can make it up to you through this chapter.

It all started that one night when I was born in 1846. My name is June Kate Whitlock, I grew up with a mother, a father, and my older brother Jasper. We were one year apart and got along like good sisters and brothers did. That ended when Jasper left for the Confederate Army when I was eighteen. Then one horrible night in 1863 I heard something downstairs. Being the curious type, I walked down the stairs to find my parents dead on the floor. I started crying and then out of nowhere I saw Jasper. I was about to ask him what he doing here when I saw his eyes were bright red. Before I could utter another word, he bit me.

I felt a burning in my thought as I woke up. Standing up slowly I saw Jasper looking down at me. "What happened?" I asked him, "I turned you into a vampire!" he told me. I was surprised at him, "Jasper, why does my thought burn so much?" I asked. "Oh yeah, you need to hunt, come on, I'll teach you." he said as he ran out of the door. I couldn't believe it, I was a vampire, with all worries behind me I ran out after him till we came to a clearing. I was so thirsty that before I knew it I had drunk from a human. "Come on June, Maria will be waiting."

I just laughed, as we ran at full speed towards the Mexican Coven. When we got there I saw a whole group of newborn vampires like me and one lady in the middle who stuck out. She came over to me and shook my hand, "I'm Maria, you must be June." she says. "Nice to meet you." I say as I shake her hand back. She smiles and then walks over to Jasper, "You will all be trained to fight, if you fail or are proven weak, there will be consequences." she says with an evil smile, "Let's begin."

For weeks on end I learned how to fight and defend myself. The army had grown much bigger and considering to Maria, I was one of the best fighter. Then one night when I was out in a field watching the stars, I felt a brush of wind. I turned around to see Jasper, "This is amazing." I told him as I looked up at the stars. I heard Jasper huff, "Maria wants me to kill you." he says looking down at his shoes. I turned around, "You're kidding right?" I asked. He sighs as he shakes his head no, I was in shock, "But I don't want to..." he starts as he looks into me with those red eyes, "I could keep you alive, but you would have to run. Get away from here." he says. I look at him, "Be careful Jasper." I say as I give him a big hug. Once I have let go of him he looks at me and keeps me some last words of advice, "Be safe June and keep your gift a secret." he says. I smile, "I will." I give him one last look, "Goodbye Jasper." I say as I run full speed and as far as I can get from there.
