Dandelion P.O.V.
It was the day of homecoming. I went out with dad a week ago and bought the dress of my dreams.
The top had black lace around the neck with black sheer fabric leading to the torso. The torso had black sparkles covering the whole front and that led out to a black tulle poof. It was gorgeous.
"I can't believe you're actually going to homecoming." Dad said.
"I know." I replied while the hair stylist styled my hair.
I decided that my hair was going to be in a loose bun on the side of my head. It's not going to be anything fancy, but just something that makes me feel beautiful.
"Dan would be so proud of you." Dad said.
"Wow, I didn't even think about what Daddy Dan would think. Is it sad that I forget about him sometimes?" I ask.
"It isn't sad. I don't like you to dwell on Dan and be in tears that he isn't here with you, but of course I would like for you to remember your father. But today is a happy day. Let's just remember that he'd be so proud. Just like I am." Dad says.
"Thank you, Dad." I say, smiling. He smiles back.
Once my hair is done, my stylist spins the chair and I actually think that I look beautiful. I feel confident.
"Thank you so much! It's gorgeous." I say to the stylist.
"You're very welcome." She replies.
Dad pays the stylist and we are on our way home. It's currently 4:00 PM and homecoming begins at 6:30 so I have some time.
Yet, the second we get in the door, I can't help but put on the dress I love. So I run to my bedroom, hop in my dress, and twirl around. I feel like a princess.
I still can't believe that Nicole asked me to homecoming. We are such great friends and I even think we like each other. You know, considering we kissed and all.
Dad knocked on my door and walked in. He just smiled.
"Dandy, you look beautiful." He said.
"Thank you. I feel beautiful." I smile.
"Well you should. Nicole should be here around 5:30 since you two want to go out to dinner so start putting your make up on soon." Dad says.
"Fine. It doesn't take that long to put on make up. Actually, now that I consider it, yeah it does. Thanks." I say.
"You're welcome!" He yells as he walks back down the hall.
From my bedroom, I heard the ring of the doorbell and my heart started beating really fast. Yet, it was only 5:00, Nicole should be here at 5:30.
"Dad, who was at the door?" I ask.
"It must have been a prank because no one was there." He said.
Dan P.O.V.
I want Dandy to keep me alive in her mind. I want to make her feel like I'm in her life and it seems as she doesn't feel that way, so I'm going to try my best to stay alive in the Lester family. So, that was me ringing the doorbell.
Dandelion P.O.V.
It was only half an hour later until Nicole showed up in a gorgeous pastel blue dress.
We went out to dinner and then we were off to the homecoming dance.
"I'm so excited!" I said in the taxi.
"I'm just excited to see Annalise's dress. I heard it's going to be extravagant." She said sarcastically. That made me laugh.
As we stepped into the dance, the theme was "A Night in Paris". How typical.
"Have you ever been to Paris?" Nicole asked.
"No way. My Dad's have been there though. They went there for their honeymoon." I say.
"I've been to Paris. It's gorgeous." Nicole said.
"Like you?"
"Cheesy. But cheesy is cute. Like you." Nicole says, tapping my nose and making a "boop" noise.
"Cheesy." I say.
Overall, the whole night was cheesy. We slow danced, Annalise won homecoming queen with her extravagant dress, and overall it was amazing.
After we left the dance and we were at my flat door Nicole said one last thing.
"Lion, tonight was probably the most fun I've ever had. So, that leads up to the question of why I asked you to homecoming. Will you be my girlfriend?" Nicole asked.
"Awe, of course!" I say.
"Cool! Well, goodnight Lion."
"Goodnight."
I walk in the door with a big grin on my face.
"Why are you so happy?" Dad asks.
"Because Nicole is my girlfriend now!" I exclaim.
"Oh that's great. Now go to bed, it's late."
I was glad to go to sleep with the thought of tonight on my mind.
