Hour 1:

Meredith woke Derek up around 12 in the morning. Meredith's water had broken.

"Your water broke?" Derek asked half asleep. "Wait..." Derek said again sitting up. "Your water broke."

"You catch on quick." Meredith said with a little laugh. "Don't freak out it's not that big of a deal. We still probably have a while."

"I know. I should probably call Mark and have him come over to watch Brie." Derek said.

"Yeah, you should." Meredith said as she got out of bed. "I'm gonna go take a shower, you go downstairs, get things ready and call the hospital to let them know that we're on our way."

Hour 2:

Derek called Mark, and he arrived at the house. He also got the bags in the car, and made sure the carseat was put in correctly. Meredith took a shower, put on a pair of sweats and a sweatshirt, which is basically all she can wear because it's all that fits besides scrubs. Meredith packed a last minute outfit for Noah, and grabbed a couple extra blankets.

"Hi." Meredith said as she walked into the kitchen where Derek was talking to Mark.

"You ready?" Derek asked.

"As ready as i'll ever be." Meredith said. "Thank you so much for coming over to watch Brie." Meredith said to Mark.

"No problem. Go have your baby, i'll bring Aubrie to the daycare in the morning when I go in for my shift, and Lexie will pick her up around 12 and bring her back here and watch her." Mark said.

"Sounds good." Derek said. "I'll call you later, and text you updates."

"I'll be waiting." Mark said.

With that Meredith and Derek left for the hospital.

Hour 3:

Meredith and Derek arrived at the hospital, and went through the admission process. They tried to go unnoticed by their coworkers and so far so good. They knew word would spread around the hospital that they were having the baby and everyone would want to see them, but they wanted to have as much privacy as they could possibly get for as long as possible.

"You okay?" Derek asked.

"For now." Meredith said. "Don't let them push the epidural on me. I don't want it unless i'm screaming bloody mur-." Meredith said before she was cut off by a contraction.

"You can squeeze just don't break them, they're the money makers." Derek said as he held Meredith's hand.

A few seconds later, Meredith let her grip off of Derek's hand slightly and laughed at what he said.

"How bad was it?" Derek asked.

"It wasn't too bad. It'll get worse. It just caught me off guard." Meredith said. "You need to get some sleep." She said.

"So do you." He said back.

With that, they both tried to get some sleep.

Hour 6:

Meredith woke up all throughout the 3 hours she had tried to sleep. Probably in reality she only got about hour, maybe a little more. Derek on the other hand, slept like a baby. Meredith gave up sleep around 5 in the morning, contractions were just too strong to sleep through.

"Good morning." Meredith said to Derek as he slowly woke up at around 6 in the morning.

"How long have you been up?" He asked her.
