Meredith woke up to the flight attendant speaking through her microphone. "We are expected to land in Seattle in around 3 hours. We aren't expecting any delays for weather."

"Good morning, Meredith." Derek said sarcastically.

"Ha Ha. It's what 4:30 now?" She asked.

"3:30 we went through a time change."

"Oh, yeah right." She responded going through the bag she brought on the plane looking for the bottle she packed for Aubrie. "She's probably going to be hungry soon, sorry for all this craziness. You probably expected a calm plane ride there and it's pretty obvious that you're not getting it."

"No, don't worry about it. I don't mind. It's been fun, I can't stand a boring flight. Can I help you with anything?" Derek asked.

"Um, can you hold this for me please?" She asked as she handed him Aubrie's cup. "I know I packed the formula mix in here. I just can't find it with how much crap is in here." Shortly after saying that, she found the little packet of formula mix, poured some of her water in and then poured the formula in, shaking it after. "I usually don't give her formula, I know you're probably thinking "Why are you feeding your kid formula if she's one." but it's just more convenient than packing food and drinks for her."

"I wasn't thinking anything. You're her mother, you feed your kid what you want to feed her." He was interrupted by Aubrie's whines.

"I'm sorry." Meredith said as she handed Aubrie the bottle. "There you go baby girl."

"So, tell me your story." He said after a few moments of silence.

"What story?"

"You know, the story of Meredith"

"Well, it's pretty boring actually. I grew up in Seattle, my mom worked at Seattle Grace ever since I was 4, so I was there a lot. Never really knew my dad. I went to Dartmouth and majored in Pre-Med and then applied there for medical school which is where I ended up going. While I was in medical school I met this guy, who is Aubrie's dad, he didn't stay around long enough to even meet his daughter. He said he wanted nothing to do with either of us, haven't heard from him since. She was born in Boston, last October, which was not very convenient since it was my last year of medical school, but I love her regardless. My last  semester of medical school, I got offers from Mayo, Seattle Pres, Seattle Grace, Mercy West, Baylor and a couple other hospitals, but my mother was quick to have her opinions on each of them, except Seattle Grace obviously, now we're here. What's the story of Derek?"

"Well, I was born in Maine, lived there my whole life. My mom stayed at home, my dad, well he died when I was 11. I have 4 sisters, Amelia, Nancy, Elizabeth and Kathleen. Amelia's a neurosurgeon too, out in California. Nancy stays at home with her kids. Elizabeth is a teacher, and Kathleen is an OB. I don't see her much. I went to Bowdin and also majored in pre-med and went to medical school there. I moved to New York, got married, lived there for a while, got divorced and moved on to better things in Seattle. I worked on a few clinical trials, none that worked out. Now i'm here."

"What hospital do you work at in Seattle?"

"Guess."

"Derek.. Just tell me."

"No, guess. It'll be fun."

"Seattle Pres?"

"Nope. Guess again."

"Seattle Grace?"

"What a good guesser you are."

"No wonder you had nothing bad to say about Seattle Grace, you wanted to make it sound like an amazing place so I would want to work there."
