September 16th
The moment Niall walked through the door, I leapt and kissed him hard on the mouth. I felt Niall press his lips against mine again as he wrapped his arms around my waist. I heard the front door close as Niall continued to kiss me back. When we pulled apart for air, I couldn’t help but grin cheekily at him.
“Well, that was a hell of a greeting,” Niall quipped.
“I know,” I replied, still smiling cheekily, “I just loved it.”
Niall laughed as we walked towards the couch together. Before I could sit down, though, he patted my leg and told me to change into a pair of sweats or something comfortable.
I cried out, “What? Why?”
Niall laughed at my expression as he explained. “Because today, we’re playing video games and hanging out like old times.”
When Niall said, “like old times” I knew exactly what he meant. We used to play video games on Saturday mornings in our pajamas until late afternoon, only snacking on crisps and junk food. Almost immediately, I hurried into the bedroom to change into a pair of grey sweats and an old maroon sleeveless tee that said, “Los Angeles, California” on it. On my way into the living room, I grabbed a bag of Cheetos, and a liter of pop for Niall and I to chow down on.
I plopped down on the couch and set the Cheetos and pop down on the counter. Niall murmured a “thanks, babe” while he was fixing the game console and the TV input. I opened the bag and popped a few Cheetos in my mouth while Niall sat down next to me. He put a game controller in my lap and grinned at me.
“Is it Guitar Hero?” I asked hopeful.
“You know it!”
The rest of the day was effortless. Niall and I didn’t worry about the hate we were receiving everyday on our Twitter accounts. We didn’t worry about his friends coming over, or the fact that Niall was famous. For a good four hours, we completely forgot about the outside world and everything else. It felt like we were fourteen again and hormonal, stupid teenagers who had nothing else better to do than to play video games and hang out.
Niall farted countless times, and I shoved him every time, but I didn’t have a real problem with it. Come on, it’s a bodily function. Guys fart and it’s normal. Niall also popped cheetos into my mouth plenty of times. Then he followed by kissing me.
I swear, every minute I spend with him, I like him more. My heart beats faster, my stomach’s knots get tighter and the butterflies fly harder and higher. Everything just gets escalated, and sometimes, I don’t think I can bare it. I’ve never felt anything like this. In fact, I’ve never been happier to be around someone. I’m even pretty absolute that no one could ever make me feel the way Niall does. No one can make me as happy as he does.
“Babe, what’s the matter?” Niall asked me when I stopped paying attention.
I lifted my head from his lap, and looked up at my boyfriend. My eyebrows raised as I answered him, “Oh, nothing’s wrong, hon. I’m just thinking.”
Niall set the controller down on the coffee table and braided our fingers together. “Yeah, about what?”
I couldn’t help it as the blush rose to my cheeks and replied shyly, “How happy you make me.”
Niall didn’t answer. He only pressed his lips on mine. The only thing different about this kiss apart from the others was that it was slower, sweeter and more passionate. This kiss had so much meaning behind it that Niall didn’t even need to say anything. I understood what he wanted me to know - he felt the same way.
