I have seen your glasses getting heavier,
I have seen your eyes building mound of darkness around,
I have seen you sacrificing your dreams to fulfil mine,
I have seen your skin losing lustre, your hair gaining grey shine.
I have seen life seeping through corners,
Wearing and tearing you away.
I have seen you gravitate towards things of my liking,
I have seen you bearing the weight of my desires,
I have seen you working hard not because you like to,
But because it would provide for me.
But still every time, I forget to remember these.
But still every time, I remember the false face,
Of disappointment, to make me work harder.
Of anger, to make me better.
Dear dad, I have seen you lose your youth for me,
Dear dad, I have seen you spending all your life for me.
Just wanted to say,
Thank you,
For so much you do,
And for,
Just for,
Being you.
