He cut it into angles,

Of defining sparkles.

He polished the sides,

To perfect the elegance.

Yet, for him,

It was not perfect,

So, he kept going,

Kept on working.

The stone had a personality,

Which was not like any other,

The stone had an individuality,

Which bred away from perfection.

The very perfect that stone could become,

Was in it's imperfection.

So, the maker realised,

That how much so ever,

He wanted the stone to outshine,

But one simply can't alter a character.

One simply can't alter the soul.

So, he let the stone be,

And the stone became,

One of the most precious jewels,

He had made.
