Warehouse Chronicles:Part Two(The Day We Left)

"You guys have to see this."

We all paused.Some were still squinting against the light,and couldn't see the look of absolute shock on Yoshio's face.He disappeared behind the door again.

Well he's not dead,so that has to be a good sign.

Kimiko,being the first of us to come to their senses,steeled her shoulders and marched out.I could hear her tiny gasp of surprise.After her,Yoichi followed,and then Aya,Shoichi,Masaru and Minako.Maiko dragged a reluctant Satoru out the door.Takumi,Tomoko,Igao,Yoshie and I remained staring apprehensively at the space between the door and the wall.From behind us I could hear Fumiko struggle against the ropes that were binding her.

I carefully took a few steps forward.I heard the others follow.I opened the door a bit more so more of us could fit through the opening.There were a few steps that led upwards towards the real world.Taking a deep breath I maneuvered my shaking limbs up the dirt stairs and looked out over through the doors' threshold.

It certainly wasn't what I was expecting.

The school,which we could see clearly from the hill we were located on,was still there.The windows that were once broken and the bodies that were strewn about before were cleaned up.I couldn't see any lights on the campus,but it looked to be in decent shape.

If that was it things would have been awesome.Unfortunately,anything that can possibly go wrong eventually does.

Houses and buildings that previously surrounded Hopes Peak Academy were destroyed,on fire,or just gone altogether.Bodies lined the streets where running water from some broken fire hydrants steadily flooded the ground.

If that wasn't bad enough,there were these...things walking around.They looked like giant teddy bears,but ones that had been altered horribly.Half of them was a regular adorable white teddy bear,the other was a black one with a demented grin and a lightning bolt for an eye.They had sharp teeth that I could see from our distance,and huge claws that didn't seem just for show.

They were all walking around casually,as if they owned the place.Through the streets,on the roofs,some were flooding in and outside of the buildings.Just about every one was covered in red liquid that looked horribly like blood.

"So cute..."I heard Maiko whisper in front of me.She tried to take a few steps forward but Yoshio held her back by the arm.Not protesting,she backed up to be with the rest of us.

But the Bears weren't the only ones walking around.Some adult men,women,even some children were walking leisurely beside the creatures.But they were all wearing masks that closely resembled the bears.They were clearly playing for the same team.

"The fuck is all of this?"Shouchi asked,partly in awe,partly in terror.

None of us could answer him.How do you explain something like that?Walking out of a shell only to find that your entire world has changed completely.

"We...we should go back in."Takumi suggested,his voice shaking.

Igao walked closer towards the front of the group to get a closer look at the scene.I didn't need to see his face to know that,while the situation was horrible,he was very interested in observing as much of things as possible.

"Where are all of the normal people?!"Minako asked,trying not to let her panic raise her volume.Although we were a safe distance away it wasn't unthinkable that the things had good hearing.

Akihiro took aim at the bear closest to us.He was peering curiously behind a bush,apparently looking for something.

"Don't fire unless it sees us."Kimiko commanded him.Akihiro gave a small grunt to show he understood.
