Nagito was holding ice on his jaw.Nothing was broken or dislocated, but it was a pretty hard hit.He was also hunching over slightly, most likely because of the blows to his stomach. But even so he was wearing that annoying as hell grin.

But I guess I could get used to one more weirdo around here.

Aya Yoshio and Yoichi were still asking him questions about the outside and telling him about what we had been through.I never realized how much there was to talk about, but they seemed to find it comforting to tell someone else about it,and Nagito was more than happy to answer their questions.Minako was silent, having probably gotten used to his presence by that point. She was watching the four with a smile on her face.

"What's with the smile?"I asked her.

She shrugged."I was feeling bad for him.Can you blame me?Being stuck in that room.I was only able to pop in for about five minutes at a time,so we couldn't talk much. Some nights I was able to spend quite a while with him,but other than that he's been all alone."Minako looked back at the scene before us,where they weren't paying us any mind."I'm glad he won't be alone anymore."

"You do know what he tried to do...right?"I asked her, reminding her of what I saw him do on the video.

She nodded."Yeah, when you told us about that,I was shocked."

I recalled how she reacted when I told her about the videos. She had asked if I was sure about the names, and when I said yes she looked startled.

She continued."I had confronted him about it that night, and he looked...scared."

I raised my eyebrows.Scared was not an emotion I thought he was capable of.

"Well, not in a way you or I might look scared, more like he was worried he had been caught in something."She explained."Either way,he said it had something to do with who he had been before, you know...under the influence."

I nodded.I had already seen what despair can do to people.I had been tasting it myself.

"So I've decided to trust him."Minako gave me an apologetic glance."You do realize why I couldn't tell you...right?"

I nodded again."Yeah,it would've been bad if Monokuma had discovered him too early, before we all had seen him.So it's fine."I had forgiven her for being so secretive.

Minako smiled in relief and we tuned back in to the discussion Yoichi,Aya and Nagito were having.

"So they didn't say anything about what happened to those kids to the  families of the bereaved?"Yoshio asked, shocked.

Nagito shook his head."It was something that they felt had to be covered up,so they said it was an accident."

"And no one saw the coincidence that everyone in the same class ended up dead?!"Aya asked incredulously.

"Oh some people did obviously, others just pretended it never happened."Nagito rubbed his chin in mild thought."I seem to recall some students conducting investigations to find the truth. However the public didn't know too much about the truth the incident,so it wasn't for a while things got crazy."

"And what uh....what happened when they went crazy?"Yoshio asked.

Nagito turned towards him and explained, his grin no longer so big,but not quite gone."Well first the Reserve Course rebelled, meaning the school had to segregate them from the regular students even further. That obviously made them angrier. They had been sick of the higher treatment the talented students got,so when they found out about the murders they finally snapped.I'm pretty sure it was one of them that leaked the information about the murders. As you can imagine the public was outraged. But the school's heads wouldn't give away the name of the guy who did it.He was too important to their research. And by that point Junkos associates had already been spreading their ideals. So soon there were open attacks towards the students at Hope's Peak.Muggings,kidnappings,killings.Wherever you went you could see how much everyone hated Hopes Peak Academy.Protesters and angry mobs were outside of the gates 24/7,so they had to hire security to deal with them. They tried moving the kids into regular schools to hide them, well I'm pretty sure you can guess how that went.Soon students were forbidden from leaving the school grounds at all.One day I remember, there was a school wide assembly where they told us to sneak out of the school, leave behind the Academy and our talents so we could live on as normal kids. There were quite a few who didn't want to do that,so they stubbornly stayed put. There were a few classes that didn't show up to the assembly either. So while about half of the teaching staff and students fled, another half was still there, completely unaware that so many kids had left them there."
