Chapter 15

Michael's P.O.V

Jake? I tensed up. Whatever this guy did to her.... I'm going to hurt him.

Cassie sighed and started talking again. "Um so Jake was my childhood best friend. But he started doing drugs and going to parties every night. One night he came over to my house, my parents were gone and he was extremely drunk. Then he-" She started crying again. I held her tight and kissed her forehead. "He hurt me. He started-" She cried harder and shook her head. I started playing with her hair to help her calm down.

"It's okay, babe. You don't have to say anything else." I kis d ed her forehead again and she nodded and kept her head on my chest. Crap. I called her babe.

"But he was also dating another girl at the time. Her name was Jessica, I think?" Cassie explained. No no no. It can't be! But it is... She continued, "She really loved him. But the he finally realized his mistakes and he jumped. He just left." She sighed and tried not to cry. It is the same Jake... But where's Jess? Was I just hallucinating? I tried to shake these thoughts out of my head.

I wiped her eyes and tried to calm her. I love her. So much. It hurts me to know that I can't have her. But she messed up. I mean, we all do. We're human. I'm just not sure if I believe her when she says that she loves me.

I stayed silent. I didn't know what to say. She has been hurt so much. I guess her way of not getting her heart broken is to break other's. But damn.... I really love this girl.

Cassie had stopped crying and she was cuddled into my side.

The boys still weren't home and it was starting to get late. I decided to text Ash to see when they would be back.

To: Ashton
When are you and the guys gonna be back?

I waited for a reply, and around ten minutes later he finally texted back.

From: Ashton
We're actually on our way. We'll be there in around 10. With pizza.

I sighed and locked my phone and set it on the edge of the couch.

Within a few minutes i heard voices in the kitchen, meaning that the guys were back. I got up from the couch and went to see them.

"Where the hell were you? It was awkward as fuck with just me and Cass." I whisper-yelled.

Calum tilted his head to the side and looked at Luke and Ashton. "I don't know there these two went, but they dropped me off at the music shop and I stayed there until closing." He pointed at Luke and Ash and then looked back at me.

I nodded and looked at Ashton for an explanation. "So where were you two?" I smirked.

"We um." Luke stuttered. "We w-" Ashton cut him off.

"Got damn it! Fine. We were on a date." Ashton's cheeks got red and Luke glared at him. Calum and I stood there speechless.

I started laughing. "Lashton af, amirite?" I gave them both a smile and patted them on the back and said, "Don't be too loud." I grabbed a few pieces of pizza and went back into the living room.

Shortly after the other boys came in and Luke and Ash cuddled up together on the couch, leaving Calum sitting alone. The boy needs to get a girlfriend. Well I need one too, but I'm waiting for Cassie. But I'm not waiting forever.

Cassie's P.O.V

Luke, Cal, and Ash finally came back. They ate pizza but I wasn't hungry so I went up to Luke's spare bedroom and laid down.

I was just about to fall asleep when my phone went off. Who the hell is texting me? I usually only text the boys, as I still hadn't made any friends at school. Not that I wanted to. It's still Saturday, and I'm probably going to skip on Monday, anyways.

I sighed and picked up my phone. Jessica. Why was she texting me? I opened the message and read it.

From: Jessica
Hi Cassie! How are you? I know I was a bitch back then but I never really knew what he did. I'm really sorry. Please forgive me?

To: Jessica
Yeah, I guess. We were only 15 then. It's been a few years.

From: Jessica
Thank you, Cassie. I just want to be friends again, you know? So um could we hang out sometime?

To: Jessica
Of course we can! How about tomorrow?

From: Jessica
Sure, meet me at Leo's around 11

To: Jessica
Can't wait (:

Jessica. We hadn't talked for two years. We used to be really close. Until Jake hurt both of us. She misunderstood it all.

I ran my fingers through my hair and threw my phone across the room. It didn't take long for Michael to run upstairs and see what happened.

I smiled and shook my head. I mouthed 'I'm fine' and he nodded.

Michael picked up my phone which, thankfully, wasn't broken and he placed it on the side table. For a couple seconds he just stood there, staring at me until he got under the blankets and laid down next to me. He then put his arm around me and pulled me close to him. He whispered something in my ear, but I couldn't hear what he said.

I wanted to kiss him, so badly. But I decided against it. I put my head on his chest and he pulled my closer. Michael then started placing light kissed on my forehead and I smiled.

"I love you Cassie. I really do."

"And I love you Michael. I really do."

"Then what are we doing? Are we going to stay like this forever? Knowing that we love each other but we don't do anything about it? I love you so much that it hurts."

"I don't know what we're doing." I looked down.

"Then let's do something." He sat up. "Cassie, will you be my girlfriend?" He looked at me, almost begging for me to say yes. I didn't say a word. My eyes fluttered to his eyes to his lips, and I leaned in. He put his hand on the back of my neck and pulled me closer.

I could feel the sparks when our lips touched.

oh wow... sorry that I haven't updated in a long time. I think that I will just be updating once a week because I haven't had time lately. I will also be updating my other book Internet Friends once a week as well. I hope you like this chapter!
