Michael's P.O.V

School was a blur. As usual. Cassie sat next to me in all the classes we had together. It was torture, but I knew she was doing it on purpose. She's killing me.

Ashton had made it clear that we would have band practice today and everyday for the rest if the week. He had gotten us a gig. Obviously a small one at a local bar, but it's better than nothing.

The gig was this Friday, and we barely had anything to play. I talked to Luke about adding my new song into the set, and he agreed.

During lunch, Calum decided to sit with us today, leaving Cassie to sit with the popular girls, aka white toast.

She doesn't get it. I only said that I didn't like her because I knew she didn't love me back.

I've been seeing quotes everywhere. When I open up instagram and twitter. Quotes. More quotes. I can't seem to get away from them. But they all relate to me. Maybe it's a sign of something. It's probably just a coincidence.

But there was one that stuck to me;

You are not mine,
But sometimes
I pretend that
You wish you were

I create this idea
That you secretly
Want me

And I often forget
It's just something
I've made up

You do not want me,
and you are not mine.

I love, Cassie. Something changed in her. She isn't the Cassie that she was before. She is no longer the girl who loved cuddling and playing video games. Her smiles are no longer real, even if her other ones were sad.

She started hanging out with Calum a lot more. She didn't even try to talk to me. She didn't even acknowledge me.

"Calum, come on.... Yes.... Okay.... Yeah.... Don't be late...." Ashton said into the phone.

We were all set up and ready to play. I let the guys read over the lyrics and we put the instruments in. The song was done, we just needed to rehearse.

Calum was late. No surprise there. He was probably with Cassie. The thought of them together makes me sick. Even if he doesn't like her in that way.

"Okay, Cal. Our gig is Friday, so no more being late. Now let's rehearse Jet Black Heart." Luke instructed Calum.

We decided to name the song Jet Black Heart. It had a lot of meaning, and was reallyreally deep. I knew it would sound good in a studio.

I took lead vocals in the song. We played it over and over for a few hours then decided to do some covers.

"How about we play I Miss You?" Calum said. I glared at him and he looked confused. I shook my head and started to play the chords. That's our song. Mine and Cassie's.

All the memories came flooding back. Us singing together in the car. Cuddling and watching movies with the boys. Us having fun. I can't stop thinking of her.

I've been writing a lot lately. I have tons of new songs I've been working on. They're good, except they're all pretty sad and deep. Calum is usually the songwriter, but I actually really love to write.

We rehearsed a few songs, and we have out set together. We only should be playing to about 200 people so hopefully we rock it.
