Oblivious. The word that defines the world. This filthy fucking world we live in is oblivious. Everyone is oblivious to the hurt and the pain. All they care about are eyebrows, football, and size 0 models.
Everyone likes to lie. We all do. Don't try to deny it. The smiles, the reason why we wear long sleeves, and why we blast punk rock and lock ourselves in our rooms.
We're selfish. We hide our pain and feelings, just so others don't get hurt. Or, we hide them so they don't ask questions. We hurt ourselves for relief, but don't think of how others will feel.
I'm just a fucking selfish 17 year old bitch.

Fuck. Two steps into the school and I'd already been humiliated. Great first impression, bitch. Papers scattered the tiles and I forced myself to stay together. I looked up at the asshole who bumped into me, and I was mesmerized by his bright green eyes. "Shit, fuck. Sorry." He groaned, rubbing the back of his neck. He grabbed my papers and extended a hand. I reluctantly took it, and he pulled me up so we were standing inches apart.
"Thanks, asshole." I pushed past him and tried to ignore the snickers and laughs coming from the other students.
After twenty minutes of searching the school, I had finally found my locker. I opened it up and shoved my books in it. It'll be okay. I sighed, and shut my locker door, startled at the person standing beside me. He towered over me, probably being around 6 feet tall. I took in his appearance, but made sure not to stare. He had red hair, in a horrible fringe, an eyebrow piercing, dark lips, and green eyes. I could get lost in them forever.
"You like what you see?" Shit. Fuck, I was staring. I could feel the blood rush to my cheeks and I tried to cover them up with my sleeves. He smiled and laughed, "I'm kidding. I'm Michael by the way. And I'm really sorry about what happened earlier." He took my right hand and shook it.
"Uh hi. It's no big deal, no need to be sorry." I let out a forced laugh. I bit my bottom lip, as I always do when I'm nervous.
"Well fuck, I ran into you and you fell. Of course I should be sorry. I fucking humiliated you in front of the entire school. And you're new here so yeah. Can I show you around? I don't have to if you don't want to-"
Fuck he is so cute when he rambles. Wait, don't fall for him. You don't know anything about him...
I laughed, this time genuinely, "Yes, Michael. Of course you can show me around." I smiled up at him.
"Oh thank god." He put his arm around my shoulder, but quickly took it off when I flinched at the touch. "Sorry." He gave me a nervous smile and showed me to my classes.
It turns out I have all classes with Michael except Math. We walk down the hallway together to our first class- English. I sat in the back of the room, beside Michael. He leaned over and whispered into my ear "Hey, I never caught your name." He looked up at me and winked.
I smiled at him. Whenever I look at him I can't help but smile. "Cassie." I sheepishly smiled.
He looked into my eyes for what seemed like ages, until he say back down into his chair. I could hear him quietly whisper my name over and over, and I could see a faint smile forming on his lips.
Maybe this isn't going to be so bad at all.

"Cassieeee" Michael lazily smiled and dragged out the "e". He looked at me and pouted.
"What the fuck, Michael?" I had only known him for a few hours but I felt like I had known him forever. I laughed, and smiled.
"Will you, Cassie I-don't-know-your-middle-or-last-name sit with me at lunch?" He put his hand under my chin and looked down at me with puppy dog eyes.
"Ughhhh," I tried to seem annoyed but burst out laughing. "Yes, Michael, of course I will." His eyes lit up and he grabbed my arm and practically dragged me into the cafeteria.
"Okay, so. Um my friends are kind of... Well I don't know how to put it. They're immature guys." Michael nervously laughed.
"But aren't you an immature guy? WAIT IS MICHAEL A GIRL?" I fake gasped and playfully smacked him on the arm. He rolled his eyes and mimicked my voice.
His voice cracked, and he talked in a high pitched voice, "IS CASSIE A BOY?" I started laughing hysterically and fell on my knees. "Damn, that wasn't even a pick up line and I already got you on your knees." He smirked and I rolled my eyes.
"Oh, and Michael? Yes, yes I am a boy. I have a 50 foot long dick and it's rainbow." I looked up at him and smirked, waiting for his reaction. He nearly fell over, and was trying to catch his breath from laughing so hard.
"Okay, come on. Let's get some food because I'm hangry." Michael says as he grabs a bag of chips.
"Hangry?" I laughed. I'm not really hungry. I won't eat lunch today. Michael will suspect something. I decided that I wouldn't eat, and I would just lie if any questions popped up.
"Hangry. It's like when you're really hungry so you get angry." He laughed.
Michael led us both to a table toward the corner of the room. I could see three boys already sitting there. Calm down, Cass. Don't be nervous. They're just Michael's friends. Michael sat down immediately, and he motioned for me to sit next to him. I reluctantly sat down, and smiled toward the boys."Ooh, looks like Mike finally got a girlfriend!" A tan boy with dark hair said. Damn, why are they so attractive? I blushed, and so did Michael. Michael glared at the boy, who he soon introduced as Calum.
"Cassie, these are my immature, rude ass friends. Calum, Luke, and Ashton." Michael exclaims as he points to each boy individually. All of the boys smile at me.
"Um hi." I said with a smile. I was trying to build my confidence around boys. Especially attractive ones.
"So," Luke started, "Are you two dating?" I laughed, and Michael basically choked on his food.
"Oh my god Luke! Fuck you. We're not dating. She's new here so I'd thought I'd be nice." Michael glared at him. Luke and the other boys nodded their heads.
"Anyways, welcome Cassie. Just stick with us, and don't hang out with the jocks. They'll hurt you." Ashton said sternly.
"Thanks, dad. I won't, I promise." He held out his pinky and we swore on it.
Michael leaned his head over to me. His lips were so close to my ear, and he whispered, "Are you okay? You're not eating." I looked at him, and my heart started pounding. I knew he could tell how nervous I was."It's okay, Michael. It's my first day and I really don't feel that well." I lied. Damn. I already lied. I gave him a small smile, and he squeezed my hand under the table.
"You can talk to us if you want to, okay? You can trust us." Michael smiled. The other boys nodded in agreement. I smiled back at him and started playing with the sleeves of my sweater. If only they knew.
