Rita
Waking up late at Sevyn and Trey's place had me frantic. I literally had an hour to get home, change, and shower, so I sped my way through the city. I can't believe all the shit that has happened to me in just a few hours. I think its just time to focus on myself.
police siren
"Fuck!" I curse looking in my rearview mirror. I don't have the time, or the money to continue getting pulled over. I reach over grabbing my license and registration, when I hear a knock on my window. I turn to see a familiar face.
"Why the hell are you going 60 in a residential?" He says cocking his head to the side with a smirk
I cover my cheeks in embarrassment. "Michael I'm sorry! I don't drive like this all the time, I'm just running late."
He kneels down to my window. "I should give you a ticket, but I'll just let you go with a warning this time." He smiles touching my nose.
"Thank you so much Michael. I really appreciate it." I grab a sucker out of my cup holder and hand it to him. "To remember me by."
He winks unwrapping the sucker. "It will be a cold day in hell when I forget about you beautiful." He says walking away. I can't help but watch him as he gets into his car. He pulls up next to me. "Be good!" he smiles showing both dimples
"Of course, its you we need to worry about." I blush
He revs his engine. "I'll behave ma'am." He winks before speeding off just as fast as I was going. I start to think about what he said. He was right. Going back to Chris is a dumb choice. He's so young, and I feel like I'm forcing him to grow up. I feel like I'm forcing him to be the man I want him to be, and not the man he is.
"Dammit Chris." I curse for still missing him. Still missing his touch. And still missing the way he feels inside of me. "You promised Chris. Forever! Dammit."
I finally make my way home, and at my door is a box. I don't have time for the apologies, and I definitely don't have time for I love you's. I'm just tired. I pick up the box, and make my way into the house to shower and change clothes for work. I literally have 15 minutes to finally eat, and get out of the house.
phone rings
I look down to see Honey is calling me.
Rita: What's up babe?
Honey: Fuck all the hello's, have you seen the invitations?
Rita: What invitations?
Honey: Are you home?
Rita: Yeah, I got in like 45minutes ago
Honey: Did you get a box on your doorstep
Rita: Yeah, what the hell is that?
Honey: Go open it, NOW!
I run into my bedroom, and pick up the box, bringing it into the kitchen. I open the lid, and my mouth drops. Inside of the box, lies a bed of black roses cradling a black scroll with golden trimmings. I open the scroll, and I can see that written in gold printed scrip is the following:
You are cordially invited to the engagement party of Michael Maurice Brown and Evelyn Lynn Ora, with whom will be joined together as one on February 14 of the following year.
