India

(Rita & India on Face Time)

I let out a deep sigh, hoping this girl stops talking about him. I'm happy here with Jermaine, and I'm not ready to leave.

Rita: Look I know you have been through hell with him, and judging from yesterday, I do see that he's a hot head, but you can't just keep Mylan from him. I know! I know he's your son, but he's his dad. You always told me you wouldn't be one of those baby mama's and that's exactly what you're doing!
I sit the phone on the counter, rubbing my hands through my hair. I know she's right, but I just don't feel like dealing with this...

India: Now boo, you know of all people, I would never purposely try to hurt Mijo, but look what he's done to me!

Rita: You can't keep MyMy from him because of your personal issues with him

India: It's too late Rita... When he see's me, he's going to kill me.

Rita: No he's not. He just wants his son. And from what Chris is telling me, when he got home Cassie was gone with their daughter. He doesn't have either of his kids; you know that's killing him.

India: How is that my fault Rita!

Rita: Cassie left because he was looking for you everyday. He said she texted him saying something about he makes you and Mylan his number one priority, and pushes her to the back.

I take a deep breath, and honestly start to feel bad. I know he is going through a hard time right now, but this is what he gets. Mijo played with my heart, and left me when I needed him the most. I stayed around while he did his dirt, and even ignored it when I saw the signs in my face.

India: Rita....

I sigh

Rita: Just tell me what to do, and I'll have it all set up. We can do it at a park or something.

India: No, I'd rather just stop by the house

Rita: Oh! We're going over last minute details about my mom and Michael's wedding tomorrow, how about you come. Michael won't be there, he had to run out of town, so at least you don't have to worry about him. Everyone will be there, including Mijo.

India: The more people the better, I guess...

I let out a nervous laugh...

Rita: I got your back!

I smile because I honestly believe that. Since leaving, Rita is the only one I've really talked to. She hasn't told Mijo my new number, where I am, or who I'm with. I didn't know if I could trust her in the beginning, but I honestly think Rita has become one of my best-friends.

India: I know! And I got your back! Call your mom and make sure she has enough room for two more. I'd like for it to be a surprise.

I hear her on the other side cheering, and I can't help for smiling at her cuteness!

Rita: Oh my God, its been so long since I've seen you! I can't wait!

India: I know, maybe I should give MyMy to Mijo for the day, and we could do some shopping or something...

"Baby! Where you at?" I hear a voice from her end, and I know exactly who it belongs to... "Bring yo ass here!"

Rita: Shit! Chris is here! I love you, and can't wait to see you tomorrow! Promise me you will be here!
