The food was sitting in front of me. I couldn't eat.

I decided to have our orders take-out na lang from Jollibee and dito na lang sa condo kumain.

Kierra is happily munching her chicken joy and there are crumbs falling all over the kitchen table. Gutom na gutom sya, siguro ang daming ginawang activities nito sa school kanina.

I think I should at least eat something or else my blood sugar levels would be shitty, pero wala talaga akong gana.

Ate Denise will bitch at me for it later, for sure. Sorry if my diabetes were low on my list of priorities right now compared to the potential of losing my sister.

"Hmm Manong, do you... do you wanna know why galit si Kierra sayo kanina?" She asked all of a sudden. She's now eating her JollyFries.

"Why ba?" I said. My voice is a little husy. Kierra gave me a funny look.

"I thought kasi today we could have a good day without courts and scary people in suits." She said quietly and stopped eating her fries.

"Pero you enjoyed Eastwood naman today, right?" I asked hopefully.

Kung ito na yung huling araw nya kasama ako, then I wanted it to be a memorable one.

"Hmm-mmm. Pero kinda lang." She said sadly. "They won't take me away right, Manong? Diba diba?" She said confidently.

I'd like Kierra to have confidence. Confidence in herself tho. Having confidence in me is a waste of time.

"I-I don't know, Kierra." Again, I don't hide things from her. Sugar coating things doesn't help anyone in the long run.

She pushed her fries and sundae away and it almost fell off the side of the table. Buti na lang nasalo ko.

I looked over to her The expression on her face showed her anger. The tears in her eyes showed her pain.

Anger. Pain. Anger. Pain.

Kahit sakin na lang, wag lang kay Kierra. Please, please make it stop.

"H-hindi naman true yon, Manong. They won't take me, diba?" She said firmly and banged her fist on the table.

"You know that I am going to try my hardest para hindi yon mangyari, Kierra, diba? Pero kasi, there's still a chance..."

"Ugh, no! No, no, nooo!" The last 'no' came out as a high pitched scream and she covered her ears and shook her head from side to side.
