Kiefer

I just got finished reading a book for Kierra. I'm now sitting beside her with my back leaning on her headboard.

She's curling into my side as I rub my hand up and down her arm.

She remained silent after I read the book and we sat silently.

I mentally prepared myself before speaking up. I cleared my throat first. "Uh... bunso?" I asked.

Her head turned to look at me. "Hmm?"

"Do you have any... uhm... do you any questions kay Manong about sa nangyari kagabi?" I asked.

She looked away from me and sighed. "Hmm... mhm." She just hummed.

I let out the breath I'm holding in. "Okay. Well you know you can ask them and I'll answer everything you want to know."

"Is it true that that girl is our Mama?"

"Yes.... yes, she's our Mama."

"Melissa is her name, right? But we call her Mama Mozzy."

"Uh huh..."

"What about the malaking guy behind Mama? Is he our Papa?"

"Yup. He's Papa Bong."

"Bong?" She giggled as she said his name. "Sounds like cartoon's name pala our Papa's name... Bong." She giggled again and started singing. "Who's your friend who likes to play? Bingbong, bingbong..."

Natawa naman ako. "Well actually his real name is Ferdinand Ravena Junior. But we call him Papa Bong."

"Why meron pang Junior? Why you don't have a Junior? Why Kierra doesn't have Junior after the Ravena on my name? Why ganon?" She asked curiously.

"Junior kasi... when someone is named after someone, they get titles at the end of their names. So for example, yung Lolo natin, his real name is Ferdinand Ravena Sr. and kaya si Papa, he's Ferdinand Ravena Junior. It's just titles and pang-boys lang yon kaya hindi pwede yung 'Kierra Mikaela Ravena Junior.'"

She just looked at me confusingly. Alam ko naman na hindi pa nya masyadong gets yung sinabi ko.

"Okay bunso, here's another example. Di ba my name is Kiefer Isaac Ravena?"

"Uh huh..." She said.

"So kapag si Manong nagkaroon ng baby boy and I want to name him Kiefer Isaac din..." I can imagine Mika's cute frowning face right now. "He will be called Kiefer Isaac Ravena Junior and I will become Kiefer Isaac Ravena Senior. Get it?"

She put her hand over head. "Confusing man, Manong."

I chuckled. "Hindi naman masyado, bata ka pa kasi kaya hindi mo maintindihan. But you don't have to worry about that naman. You won't have kids pa naman until you're like... oh I don't know, 40 or something."

"40?! That's super old naman!"

"Hindi pa kaya yun old! I'll be around 60 and uugod-ugod na siguro ako, but that's fine."

"You're a weirdo." She said with a shake of her head.

I laughed. "I just don't like the idea of you growing up. I want you to be little tiny Kierra forever."

"I need to get married one day."

I looked down at her with a quirked eyebrow. "At sinong may sabi sayo?"
