Edward called his mechanic with Roy's telephone, stepping out of the room for a minute. While they waited, Roy looked through his pile of new paperwork, as Maice started to write on his desk with one of his pens. Before Maice could place the tip of the pen to his wood desk, Roy threw a small object onto the table. Maice looked up and glared at him. He started reading off one of the papers. "Maice Andrews, State Alchemist, assigned to Colonel Roy Mustang for duty. Due to lack of information Miss Andrews will not be receiving her alchemist name until further notice." Roy sighed and handed her the certificate to go with the small pocket watch. Maice snatched it off the table and tore it in half, crumpling it then throwing it aside. "Andrews!" Roy shouted. Maice glared at him. She clapped her hands then tapped the pocket watch. A small metal dog formed on the table, destroying the pocket watch. "What the hell!? Andrews! Explain!" Roy commanded. "I don't need a paper, nor a pocket watch, to tell me I'm good at living." Maice stood up. "That pocket watch increases the power of your alchemy!" Alphonse stated. "Why would I need that? I already got one." She said, petting Tilly. Edward entered the room, at a bad time as always. "Winry said she'd be here tomorrow morning." He said looking around. "How long will it take her?" Maice sighed, looking at her foot. "Three days at least." Edward said watching her. "Then I've got a dance tomorrow that will probably be pretty interesting." She said looking up with a smile.
"Alphonse could you help me?" She said, looking at Edward. Alphonse shot up, and walked over to her. "Sure!" He said. She started to limp out, with Alphonse helping her stand. "You need to go to the hospital, Andrews." Roy said before she could head out. "Why?" Maice turned around. "Um, sorry, but a bullet, is in your side if it wasn't obvious enough." Edward finished for him. "So what?" Maice started out again, but Roy interrupted her once more. "That's an order, Andrews."  Maice growled, then mumbled, "Fine."
Starting down the hallway, Maice looked up at Alphonse, then down at Tilly. "We're not going to the hospital, Alphonse." She said looking straight ahead. "But, Maice! You ne-" "No, I don't Al." She concluded. They kept walking, but after awhile, Alphonse couldn't get used to the idea. Al plucked her up off of the ground and held her tight in his hands. "What the hell!?! Alphonse let me go!" Maice screamed, as she struggled to free herself. "No, you need a hospital." He said, starting to run to the infirmary. It was no use, Maice ended up in the hospital bed once more, Al seated next to her. A nurse walked in, and started questioning her about her pain. "No pain. How many times do I have to tell you? Now for Pete's sake, leave me alone!" Maice screeched. "Maice, stop being rude she's trying to help!" Alphonse said. The nurse ignored them, and looked at her clipboard. "Last question," Maice interrupted her." Are you sure, cause I still got a lot of questions about your choice of footwear for work." Maice rudely said, peering down at the lady's leopard print high heels. "Cause of injury?" The nurse moved on. "You, torturing me with questions." Maice smiled a toothy grin, while the nurse gave her the stink eye. "Miss, I need to know to file a report!" The nurse babbled. "File a report about you yelling at an injured twelve year old while wearing high heels to work, you'll make the front page of 'Who Got Fired This Week?' magazine!" The nurse sighed then asked Alphonse. "No!" Maice screeched. "Why not?" The nurse asked in a sassy tone. "Oh shut it, loud mouth! Al please!" She asked desperately. The nurse gasped at the insult then said, "I'll give you brake, but I'm not coming back. Maybe your visitors could knock some sense into you!" The nurse stomped out slamming the door shut. The door was quickly reopened with Edward peering through the crack. "Come in Edward." Maice said, rubbing her forehead. "Jeez, that women was a headache." Maice yawned. "You ready?" Edward asked. "For what?" Maice and Al said in unison. "Gracia agreed to let you stay with her until your auto mails fixed." Edward said. "Who?" Maice wondered. "The wife of our old friend." Ed replied. "Hmm, okay. Anyone else?" She asked, starting to stand up. "Her daughter." Maice groaned. "I'll live with it. It's better than this dump." Maice scratched her head. Edward supported her as they walked out of the infirmary. "Why not tell the nurse what happened?" Al pondered over the thought as they head out. "Why not?"
