"Oh, stop it Edward! She was helping us." Maice said pulling herself forward. "We didn't need any help." Edward grumbled. "Sure, keep thinking that." Edward looked at her. "Who was she?" He asked, kicking a rock. Maice shrugged. "Alphonse do you need any help carrying those?" Maice pointed at the load of bags on his shoulder. "Nope, thanks though." She smiled. "No problem, just ask me whenever you need help, okay?" Alphonse nodded. They kept walking for a while, and Maice hummed to herself. She watched her every step, making sure she didn't trip on her foot. "Hey, Maice, I got you some things at the store." Winry said, watching her walk. She dug through the bags as they sat at a bench. She pulled out a wooden leg and arm, waving them inthe air. "Winry you didn't have too!" Maice exclaimed, shaking her head. "Oh, but I did, plus, it was Edwards money."
Winry hooked them up and they got to the military office faster than before. "Thanks, again Winry, this will make my dance much easier." Maice said. "Hey, you guys hungry?" Edward said, not following the conversation. "I could eat." Winry said, then looked at Maice. She shrugged. "Sure." They walked into a small cafe and ordered their meals. Edward and Winry ordered a boatload of food, that must've cost a fortune. Maice ordered a small cup of tea and tapped her finger against the table. "Well, that's not going to get annoying." Edward said as Winry smacked his arm. "Okay, I'll just carve on the table." Maice pulled out her pocket knife. "No, no, tapping's fine!" Edward exclaimed. "That's what I thought." Maice replied, closing the knife. "Why do you tap anyways?" Maice looked up at him. "Curious boy." Maice thought. "My friend taught me that to keep me from, from drawing." She mumbled. She started tapping again, humming as well. Someone started thumping their foot and humming along. Maice looked up, confused, but she kept up the beat. Edward and Winry looked at her as well. Alphonse looked around. The tune soon ended, and Maice looked around. Someone ran out the door, leaving them alone. "Maybe they knew that song." Edward said. Maice turned towards him and stared. "We made that song up." She quivered. "I gotta go." Maice ran out, knocking the tea off the table.
