Ally's POV
I went over to Riley's. I want to help Maya, she is so heart broken. I knocked on the door with the number 26 on it. I was greeted by a man with black curly short hair.
"May I help you?"
"I'm looking for Riley, can I talk to her?"
"I'm sorry you just missed her. She went with her uncle for the rest of the summer to help him with his photography." He said. Crap.
"Thank you." I turned leaving the apartment building. Riley is going to be gone for the rest of the summer. This is going to kill Maya. I walked back to Maya's.
"Did you speak to her? Does she understand that you're just my cousin? Will she talk to me? Are we going to be ok?" Maya bombarded me with questions. I hate to be the bearer of bad news.
"Maya... I didn't talk to her. She went on a trip with her uncle. She won't be back till school starts." It looked like Maya's insides crushed.
"Maya..."
"No, it's ok. You tried. That's all that counts, you tried." She turned on her heels and went to her room. This summer is going to be a long one.
