Ash's POV

We managed to reach the other side of the island but we weren't the only ones who arrived. Team Rocket had already beaten us and started their plans. They were fast, I'll give them that.

Gary and I gave each other a look, saying that we knew what the other was thinking. Immediately, we hid in the bushes and saw what they were doing.

The place was similar to an old temple. There was a small circular altar in the front of the temple. The table was tall but small in diameter. It had small sized holes with different colored aura pulsating brightly.

"So this is the place where they are going to summon the legendary Pokemon..." Gary informed me through the bushes.

"Gary, shut up!" I quietly scolded him, "We don't want to get caught, do we!?"

"Fine." He pouted, turning his head back towards Team Rocket.

We saw Giovanni, the orange suited man, moving towards the table with the same scientist as before following behind him. He ordered his scientist something that Gary and I couldn't make out.

The scientist then came within our view of the altar, while doing something with it.

"What is he doing?" Gary said, again braking the silence.

"I said, shut up! Just watch, and you'll figure it out!" I replied, giving him a death glare through the bush.

As soon as the scientist moved away, we saw that he filled the all the holes with odd stones that seemed to resemble something I have seen before.

"Are they..?"

"Mega Stones." I completed Gary's sentence, "And I think that stone in the middle is Korrina's Key Stone..."

Soon, they pulled out another machine. It was large with a blaster like antenna on top. And connected to it was a glass chamber with an odd fluid inside.

It was what was in that fluid was shocked us. The three Malamar that have tried to kill all of us were floating around unconsciously in the container.

Soon, a guy jumped from the top of the machine and shouted loudly to Giovanni.

"The mind control device is ready, sir!"

"Mind control device?!" Gary harshly whispered, getting noticeably even more worried.

Soon, as they initiated their plan, a pillar of light bursted out of all of the stones . A large, purple, vortex-like portal appeared above the temple, casting a shadow over the whole area. The portal was casting a small suction effect throughout the whole area, as everything was becoming weakly attracted towards it.

A furious roar engulfed the air around us, causing everyone to holding their ground on something near them.

"Let's attack them now! They're distracted!" I shouted, my muscles tightening to rush Team Rocket, but I was restrained by Gary.

"Gary, come on!" I yelled, pulling myself out of his grasp.

"Ash, look at the coast behind us. Rushing now is a death wish." He firmly said, pointing to the beach behind us

I turned to the direction he pointed and saw that four large ships were there fully loaded with gunmans. They were very large in number. The only word that came out of my mouth after seeing this was

"Crap"

Serena's POV

"I didn't want to leave him then, so I tried to resist and stay with him. But no matter how hard I tried, he just ordered his Charizard to bring me to you all." I explained, looking disappointingly down at my knees.

"You let him go alone?" Bonnie raised an eyebrow, "And you made the same mistake again?"

"Made the same mistake again?" I repeated, getting lost due to Bonnie's statement.

"You realize you left Ash all alone to deal with Team Rocket, again, right?"

"But he said to stay here." I protested, although it wasn't what I had wanted to say.

"Ash could get hurt, Serena! What would happen then!?" She shouted, frustrated that I didn't get it sooner.

Her words made me extremely worried again. But maybe she's right. Ash could be in complete danger.

Finally mustering up the courage, I got up and looked towards the way Ash had went.

"Go, Serena." Bonnie said, giving me a small knowing nod.

I began running into the forest. I was running at my full pace, sweat running all over my body. On the way there, all I could think was about Ash.

I want him to be safe with me. Nothing else. I was so lost in my thought that I almost lost my direction.

I stopped, wanting a hint for where Ash was. A sudden loud cry was heard which almost made me deaf, which caused me to cover my ears to protect them. My worries for Ash only increased with the sound of that horrifying cry.

A beam of light appeared from somewhere in the forest, which was hitting the sky and piercing the clouds.

A large, oval-shaped portal appeared from where the beam had cut straight through the clouds.

All my sweat was now dry. Dry, not because I was cold, but because of the fear that started building inside me. My habit of thinking for the worst took over my entire body. What would happen if something came out through that portal and ate Ash? What if it destroyed the whole earth? What if.....

No. I don't have time for these thoughts. Right now, I need to focus on making sure that Ash is safe.

I knew that the source of that beam was the place where Ash would be. I picked up the pace again and started running, setting my sights on the multiple pillars of light.
