Chapter 17: lost love or lost in love?

Serena's pov

No! Ash in under their control once more. His pokemons are all unconscious at the moment. Gary is defeated too. This is the worst moment of my life. I wanted to save ash but had no way to do it. His eyes were again turned weird. Oh ash, please come back.

I saw xerneas giving out a loud roar then rushing over to the machines. My heart stopped beating when I saw him hitting ash hard with his horns. I almost died on the spot. I ran towards ash with my tears falling all the way down.

He destructed the mind control device too so ash was now out of control but extremely injured. His legs were broken, head was bleeding like hell. I couldn't do anything but to hold him in arms and cry. I pulled him up close to my heart and hugged him.

I felt a call for help from ash, as if he is somewhere in my mind asking me to do something to stop this destruction. I got up leaving ash gently in the ground and went straight in front of xerneas.

"Listen, xerneas! Please stop this. Please!" I cried but he didn't seem to care and continued to run towards me.

(The next day)

"Ash is now not in danger but his mental condition is critical." Said nurse joy. I almost died because of the news.

"What? Can I see him." I asked to which she nodded and said

"It looks like he has lost a part of his memory. It would be better if you don't tell him about the bad things that happened."

I felt like crying more. I was already crying for more than 24 hrs and my eyes were all red and swollen up. I decided to wash up my face and then see ash.

I entered the room and found ash sitting on the bed leaning on the head-side wall. He was covered in bandages. His right arm was fractured too

"Hey ash, how are you feeling?"

"Oh, hey Serena. I never felt better than this." He chuckled but soon turned serious "Serena, do you know how I ended up here?"

"Oh...., well...., you were....., like..... What is the last thing you remember?" I tried to change the topic. I hope he didn't forgot that he kissed me a I already confessed my feelings to him. Oh god. Please.

"Well, the last thing I remember was that I defeated Ramos and we left coumarine city for luminous city."ash replied.

He forgot everything. My heart was cracking. My eyes were wet again. I just tried to hide my tears and headed out of the room.

"Serena?" Ash's voice approached me.

"Oh well, you slipped and hit some trees. That's all." I lied not willing to turn around to face him.

"Not that, my right arm is fractured and I have not eaten anything since this morning. So I was thinking if you can help me with it."

This was the time when I experienced the meaning of the term instant mood swing. My heart was giving me warm feelings from about 6 meters away of ash. My tears were gone and I went back to feed him.

There was a bowl of soup on the nearby table. I spoon-feeded ash the whole time with my face completely turned red. He looked cute when feeded with a spoon. I wiped his mouth clean with a tissue paper. Touching his lips again gave me the warm feelings. My face defeated a magicarp in being red.

"Umm.....Serena, were you crying for a long time? Your eyes are a bit swollen."

"N..no. I wasn't crying. Why should I cry?" I lied again.

I suddenly slipped and fall on ash but didn't collide. His face was centimeters apart. I could feel his breathing. My heart was giving me powerful beatings. There was complete silence. We were just looking into each other's eyes. Or face was moving closer and closer. Neither ash trespassing nor me.

At the same instant, Clemont enters the room and Bonnie followed Clemont with her dedenne on her head. The jerk of the door made me jump. Oh my god!!! Why it happens to me?

"Hey ash! How are you." Clemont asked whereas Bonnie was giving me a smirk. Good knows why! Wait, I hope she didn't see what was going on.

"Serena, what are you both doing here alone." Bonnie questioned me moving her eyebrows up and down. I blushed again and also noticed ash hiding his blush.

"Well.....I...I...was spoon......." I was interrupted with a shout

"Whhhhhhaaaaaaaatttttttttt? You were spooning ash???" Bonnie shouted and I bet that shout was enough to announce in the whole pokemon centre. All I could do was to try to hide my blush.

"Bonnie!" Clemont scolded.

"Woh..... She said she was spoon feeding me!" Ash said. "I wanna sleep now, may I."

"Oh sure, ash" Clemont said and we began moving out of the room.

"If you are scared, you can have Serena sleep with you." Bonnie said and ran away laughing. That girl is really crazy. Wait, what she just said? Oh crap. I was blushing again.

I took a seat at the bench in the garden and began thinking what happened.

______flash back______

Xerneas was charging towards me and I was motionless. I had tears in my eyes and pain in my heart. All I did there was beg xerneas to stop it.

Suddenly it felt like time being slowed down and xerneas was taking to me.

"Serena. Am I right with the name?"

"Yes, you are. But will you please stop this. It's violent. We can live with peace, then why this violence?"

"No. You humans have no heart. So no right to live."

"No it's not true. we have a heart and we love all the pokemons. It's only some bad guys who are misusing the pokemons for their benefit. There is a complete balanced system of humans and pokemons, they both are important to each other."

"Is that true?"

"Look there!" I pointed towards ash. "It was his love for pokemons and peace that he is sacrificing his life right now." Ash was lying motionless on the ground which made me burst in tears.

There was a complete silence until I saw the time becoming normal. Xerneas stopped near me and a bright white light appeared from his behind. Soon, xerneas disappeared in the white light.

"Serena, it's done. I am done with the device and the cops are coming here in a few minutes." Clemont shouted with a hand waving at me.

I looked around and saw the members of team rocket all unconscious. Giovanni was motionless too. Soon officer Jenny arrived and busted all the criminals. Ash and Gary were taken to the nearby pokemon centre.

And me? Well, just crying for ash.

I was thinking all this that happened when a felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned and saw Bonnie.

"Thinking about what happened?" She asked. I wiped all my tears and nodded a yes.

"Don't worry. He is safe. And you can confess you feelings once more. It's not a big issue, right?" She smiled and I melted on her smile. I hugged her and decided that I am not giving up, I will try my best to earn ash again. After all he is mine and I am not giving up until the very end.
