Scene Twelve:
Before he had a chance to even choke on his own saliva or fumble with his words, Jordan watched in amazement at his friends' timing skills. Andy and Keegan both dashed under the tent, their disguises in disarray while their breathing was sporadic and flustered.
Keegan did a double take as he realized the three of them weren't alone, then gave Jordan a look. Jordan knew his friends were loyal, so seeing Christofer in the same presence of Jordan must have given them warning signs. Andy took a stance beside Jordan, his arms crossed over his chest while Keegan glared at Christofer whom stood a good ten feet away from them.
"I think you have a concert to sing for, so maybe it'd be best if you continued that." Keegan rudely snapped after he regained his normal breathing pattern. Andy mutely nodded, while placing a hand protectively on Jordan's shoulder. Jordan had felt like he was a small child, watching his mother smack talk to another mother on the neighborhood block. It was embarrassing, yet he held a special fondness for his friends' actions.
Christofer either heard what Keegan said and didn't care or ignored the voice of Jordan's dear friend in general. "Jordan, please." Christofer begged, holding out his hand. "Just let me talk to you, I swear I didn't get any letter."
"You're a liar!" Andy randomly shouted, pointing an accusing finger at Christofer. "You can't go messing around with peoples emotions and then expect them to be there to hear you out right after you play them like puppets! And I hate puppets!" By now Keegan placed a hand on Andy's back while Andy's mind started giving him horrible images of his one fear, puppets.
Christofer then turned towards the duo, "Maybe you're right, I'm a horrible person for what I did but I'm trying to fix that now! But I can't if you wont let us talk."
Jordan had silently agreed, this arguing situation was getting them nowhere. "Keegan, I think you guys should go."
"But Jordan," Keegan started, still soothing Andy and his torturous mind.
Jordan held up a hand and shook his head, "It'll be fine, but you might want to get Andy a glass of water." The pale complexion of his friend was starting to worry him and he didn't need to start worrying over his friends mental health while Christofer was turning this situation even worse. Jordan had too many things on his plate.
He watched as Keegan gave an encouraging thumbs up before returning to Andy's soft whispers, "The puppets man, they're always watching. Always. Watching."
"I know," Keegan said, smiling slightly. "I know."
There was a distinct moment of silence before each boy decided how they wanted to start the conversation in their favors. While Jordan was thinking along the lines of why Christofer had simply came to tend to his wounds while he had given him the cold shoulder previously, Christofer had a different plan in mind.
Christofer pursed his lips, his hands in his pockets. "What did the letter say?" He asked softly, looking intently at Jordan.
Jordan frowned, "Why does it matter to you?" Although he knew Christofer had a right to hear what it said, it still didn't add to the fact that something wasn't right. Whether it was the fact that he had never received the letter, as he claimed, which was hard to understand since he was at the exact room and gave simple orders to Stephen or it was the fact that this conversation was doing wonders for his nerves -- which were coiled and then free every few moments, causing a bit of nausea.
"It matters because it involves you and you said you admitted something in it, I want to know what you wrote."
"See!" Jordan explained while pointing a finger at Christofer. "That right there kills me. You can't do that!"
