Scene Fifteen:
Sitting in his usual bed left Jordan with thoughts of nostalgia. It seemed like ages ago since he began to have those dreams of Christofer, when he questioned his sanity and sexuality. If he could have time-traveled to tell himself how free he felt now, knowing exactly what he wanted and whom he wanted, he would have been more open sooner. So soon things had taken a turn in Jordan's favor, minus the small letter incident. He practically had all he needed right now.
His family, as he recently called his mother to tell her the news, was supportive. He had Christofer right beside him in every step he took and he was going back on tour to see his fans, the ones whom got him where he was now.
Jordan smiled, "It seems like things are looking up."
"I wouldn't say that." Pete's voice sounded above him. He was looking down on Jordan with a frown, which somehow calmed the nervous boy down.
He was expecting all of his fury directed onto him for what he's towed Pete through.
Jordan sat up, "Look, before you say anything. . ."
"Don't." Pete interrupted, holding out a hand. He closed his eyes and took a quick breath of air before casting his clouded eyes onto Jordan. "Look, we had a plan from the beginning Jordan. I distinctly remember you agreeing wholeheartedly to it's contents. It stated that this little thing you two have, would vanish. We even went to the press about this! Now they know we lied to them, do you see how that makes us look?" He screeched, placing a hand to his forehead.
Jordan frowned, "Why do we have to care what the press thinks? All they do is spit garbage to sell their magazines anyway."
"It doesn't matter!" Pete yelled. "We have an image to uphold, Jordan, for your fans and admirers. They expect you to be honest with them, not spin them off into an abyss of lies. As your producer I need to make sure every decision is for the greater good of this record label and your fame for your band. You understand that, right?"
Jordan pursed his lips, looking away. He knew the moment his music and band took off that he'd have to make decisions not for himself, but for his band. He begrudgingly nodded his head.
"Good, so you understand why this talk was necessary. What you did was unthinkable, you practically told everyone at the concert and everyone on the Internet whom can access those photos and videos that you are a deceiver. Is that what you want, Jordan?"
"No!" Jordan yelled, he now stood upright right in front of Pete. He wouldn't ever want his fans to think he kept things from them, they were like his second family.
"Then do what you have to, but make this fling disappear." Now looking weary, Pete ran a hand through his hair.
"But, Pete. . ." Jordan started, feeling a rush of cold water run through his veins, effectively turning him numb. "Don't you understand? I can't just make it go away, these feelings wont ever go away. Christofer told me he loved me, doesn't that tell you something?"
"All it's telling me is that this thing you two have is trouble."
"But I care for him!" Jordan shouted. "You can't just tell me to not see him anymore, you're not my father." In the back of Jordan's mind he thought his situation was slightly humorous, as he was perceived to be a love-sick girl trying to tell off her father as he didn't approve of her boyfriend. "You can't tell me whom I can and can't see or care for."
Pete blew out a gust of air, "Jordan, it doesn't matter what you want. I know it sucks, but music corporations depend on your image and this pickle you're in right now is only causing more issues. So nip it in the bud, as they say, before it gets worse."
