Scene Thirty-Four:

Time Lapse: One Week

Jordan sat on his bed, his laptop cradled on his lap. Every now and then his hand would absentmindily drift towards the opened package of chocolate licorice and he would nimbly feast on that before typing away, precariously. He was looking at apartments near his home, just for the fun of it. Christofer has undoubtedly said that they would live in Chicago, since it was a fair distance from both boys' families and homes, but Jordan wanted to look anyway. There was technically no harm in doing so, and he felt as if he should check every option.

In spite of his lover's curiosity, Christofer allowed him to mindlessly do this search through every open house on the street, or streets nearby. Heck, even in the entire city of Indianapolis, which was fairly large.

Christofer now rubbed his tired eyes as he watched, in amusement, as Jordan's face would either scrunch up in disgust or lighten in admiration as he aimlessly scrolled through the list of open-houses. His fingers were nimble as they danced across his keyboard and Christofer couldn't help but wince every time he saw the white bandages wrapped around his lover's wrists. It was exactly a week since the publicity fiasco and just thinking about it gave Christofer a chilling feeling that crept down his spine.

God, he had never been so worried in his life.

Luckily, Jordan had escaped with only a few sprains to his bones. And by lucky, it meant that each photographer at that cafe was able to live another day in their pathetic lives. Christofer swore to himself that if Jordan had broken anything, even the simplest of bones, he would not let those photographers to go on merrily with their lives, day by day.

"How about this one?" Jordan asked, sliding his laptop over to where Christofer was propped up against the headboard. He had his arms lazily placed behind his head, his legs resting on a few pillows with his ankles crossed. "It's a little small, but it has a fantastic view of the park right around the corner. And it's not that expensive either!"

Christofer looked at it briefly before shrugging. "It's alright, I guess." He stretched his arms over his head and raised an eyebrow, curious as to why Jordan was so hell-bent on listening to his opinions.

With his shoulder's slumped, Jordan took his laptop back towards him. He moved the mouse to exit out of the page, before skimming down the list to look at other homes. "You've said that about almost every single place I show you." His eyes drifted towards Christofer before looking back at the screen. "Do any of them even interest you at all?"

Christofer sat up, running a hand through his hair. "Jordan, I've only been honest with you. They are alright in my opinion, but there's nothing that really stands out. Would you rather me lie and say that they're all perfect?"

Jordan didn't answer him, he simply sighed out loud before returning his full attention on the webpage before him. They had been searching for hours, sitting in bed and looking at places to live and every time Jordan asked for Christofer's opinion, he simply shrugged or nodded. "You have no idea how frustrating it is to look for a home when all you do is vaguely gesture." He hadn't meant to say it, but sitting in front of a computer for hours on end, lessened Jordan's patience. Not only that, but Christofer's lack to participate or lack of enthusiasm riffed Jordan the most. It was his idea to take the first step in moving in together, yet he could practically care less.

In fact, for the past week he barely said or did anything at all. After Jordan had gotten his body checked by a physician, they decided that they would settle for a little bit before ever becoming public once more. Thereafter, Jordan decided it was best to visit his mother and once she saw him she grabbed hm in the most bone-crushing hold before kissing every inch of his face -- to which Christofer laughed at Jordan's own embarrassment. Of course, it was then Jordan's turn to smirk once the attention was dotted onto him.
