Unrequited Love

Chapter 15

Jake's POV

"so here goes..." panimula ko sa kanila. Tiningnan ko ulit si Tessa. She gave me an encouraging smile. My heart skips a beat every time she does that. I smiled back at her.

"ganito kasi ang nangyari..."

FLASHBACK (3 years ago) 

"Bro pahiram nang laptop ha!" sabi ko kay Derrick. Nandito kami ngayon sa kwarto niya. His room is big. May TV, and component on one side with his guitars hanging on the wall. Sa kabilang sulok naman nandoon yung study table niya with his cabinet full of books. May walk-in closet din siya and has his own bathroom.

"Cge Bro nasa study table lang. I'll just go down to prepare for some snack." pagpapaalam niya sa'kin.

I turned on his laptop and saw that his FB account was still on. I was planning to play a prank on him nang may nakita akong chatbox sa gilid. pangalan ng babae. I checked kung nakabalik na ba si Derrick. I made sure the coast is clear before I opened her profile. Hmmm.. She looked familiar.  I texted Tessa and Karl nung name ng girl and asked if they knew her. Alas! kilala nila.

Of course my possessive girlfriend asked me kung bakit ko tinatanong. I told her I didn't know her and that I was just wondering 'cause someone asked me. Alam kong hindi siya naniwala so I just told her I'll tell her during our dinner date.  She lets it go.

I closed my bestfriend's FB account and searched for our recently made video para mag-edit nang may mahagilap akong folder. It was entitled HER. I got really curious. Siyempre kasi wala naman siyang kinukwento sa'kin. Tiningnan ko ulit yung door at nakiramdam. No sign of Derrick yet so I opened the folder. All I saw were pictures of Her. Iyong girl sa chatbox. She looks so pretty and innocent. No doubt why Derrick likes her. She's his type of girl.  

I found out her name was Cassie and that she was a transfer student. I asked Tessa about her and she obliged. I told her that I have these hunch that Derrick likes her and she says she thinks the same about Cassie. That's when an idea came to me. I told Tessa about my plan. I needed to confirm these hunches para alam ko kung ano ang dapat gawin para tulungan ang kaibigan ko. She agreed with me and told me na mas maiging wala munang makakaalam sa relationship namin. It would be best for our plan.

We talked to Karl later that night, siya lang kasi ang nakakaalam sa real score namin ni Tessa. We told him we have this experiment to strengthen our relationship. He was a little hesitant at first. He doesn't think it's a good idea. A little persuasion from Tessa he then agreed. He doesn't know anything about our plan involving Derrick and Cassie.

A week after that, I was heading to the library when suddenly I bumped into someone.

"Hala! Sorry!" she said. I was about to pickup the book I dropped pero naunahan niya ako. When I saw her face, I knew she was the girl.

"Oi, diba ikaw yung transferee? Cassie right?" tanong ko sa kanya.

"Uhm, Yes?" sagot naman niya. Nakita ko ang confusion sa mukha niya kaya nagpakilala  ako agad. "Oh! Ako nga pala si Jake, cousin ni Karl. He told me so much about you."

"Oh, I didn't know na may cousin pala si Karl dito." she said still confused.

"Oo, kaunti lang kasi ang nakakaalam. Hindi rin naman namin pinagsasabi. Wala rin nagtatanong cause we have different surnames. Yung Dad ko tsaka yung Mom kasi niya yung magkapatid." I informed her.

"Oh I see" sabi niya. Nakita ko naman si Derrick sa likod niya.

"Bro! Nakilala mo na ba 'tong transferee natin?" sabi ko pointing her.

"Oi Bro, andito ka lang pala. I've been waiting for hours! Nang-chi-chicks ka pa!" sabi niya sa'kin na parang hindi niya nakilala ang kausap ko.

"OA mo naman bro, nagmamadali na nga ako eh nakabangga ko tong si ms transferee." I told him. Observing his reaction when he turned to face her. He blushed then smiled widely.

"Hi S-Cassie!" sabi niya, I could feel him tense a little.

"Hello De-Derrick!" tugon naman ni Cassie sa kanya who is also tensed.

"Bestfriend! Magkakilala na pala kayo? why didn't you tell me?" bigla kong sabi to break the tension. I knew it!

"Oo Bro! Classmate ko kasi siya sa 2 subjects. I didn't know you were interested." sagot ng bestfriend ko na nawala agad ang ngiti. An idea came to me. hmmmm...ma-test nga...

"Hay Bro! Alam mo namang pag beautiful girls eh Go ako diyan. Ikaw talaga" they both fell silent. I can feel the awkwardness enveloping. I smiled to myself. Sabi na nga ba..

"Oi cge guys! alis na'ko. May klase pa kasi ako." pagpapaalam ni Cassie.  "Nice meeting you Jake" ibinaling niya naman kay Dee ang tingin niya saka nag-smile nang sobrang tamis... Ayan eh...Ganyan mag-smile si babe sa'kin oh..BINGO!
