"It's tech day tomorrow," Yao informed, with Ivan standing behind him, arms wrapped around his waist. "So you know you'll be doing a lot of nothing, aru." He sighed. Nobody liked tech days.
Arthur emerged from backstage, poking his head in first before smiling a little. Probably glad that Francis wasn't hanging around for once in his life.
"Just bare with us, please. I just want to get the lighting so this bloody show looks okay." He explained.
"Ohonhonhonhon? Did I hear that it was tech day soon?" Francis, of course, bounced into the theatre, beaming. Arthur sighed. "For the love of fuck.." He mumbled under his breath, retreating to the light booth.
I pulled out my planner to write down the date of the tech rehearsal. Feliks, who was sitting next to me, leaned over and drew a small heart on my paper.
I glanced over, "What was that for?"
"Like, what was what for?"
"The heart."
"Yeah?"
"Why..?"
"Why not?" He smiled. I wanted so badly to wipe that grin off of his face.
With my lips.
When it was time to start, Feliks retreated to the stage to do his first number.
I'm still just a little jealous.
Usually when people were on stage and I wasn't, I just read fanfiction or something. Today was another one of those days. Though I did like all the numbers I was in, I didn't get to spend a lot of time with Feliks. Which was kinda sad.
During the middle of 'God, That's Good', a horrified screech was emitted from Gilbert's lips. He trembled, "BAT! T-THERE'S A BAT!" He screamed, retreating to Matthew's arms for safety. A few people glanced up, frightened. But I just looked up to it and smiled. God, bats were cute.
Feliks gasped from his seat and jumped up. "I wanna, like, hold it!" He exclaimed, scrambling up to the wall. Of course, the bat had retreated to his home in the bell tower, so he was out of luck. He pouted and plopped back down.
"Not fair..." He groaned.
We continued on running the show until nine rolled around. We were permitted to leave. I stood and stretched. Everyone was in a flurry to leave the theatre.
Not.
People stood around and talked. Made dinner plans, sleepovers, drug circles (the bad touch trio).
I was getting ready to meet Feliks- he was at the doorway on a phone call with his haircutter- when the worse possible thing happened.
"Hey, hey, Toris!" Tino beamed as he bounded up to me. I gulped. Why did he have to do this now?
"So how's the children's program going?" He asked with a grin.
Dear lord, tell me that Feliks is still on his phone. Please.
"I- it's okay-" I stammered out. The whole auditorium almost seemed to be staring. I was shaking, probably.
"Good! Because the kids seem to like you a lot!" He smiled. "I'm glad we chose you!"
"Chose him for what?" A voice sounded. He stepped into the auditorium, and my eyes widened.
Tino, please, be smart for once.
"For the children's program director!" He informed. Feliks frowned.
"Liet, like, what is he talking about..?" He asked in a tone that made my heart shatter.
No.
No, no, no, no.
"It's- it's nothing, really, I-"
"And you didn't tell me..?" He whispered.
I shook my head repeatedly. "Feliks, come on. Don't overreact. People are staring," I ran up to him and murmured. But the waterworks were flowing. He pushed me to the side and stormed off.
Had I fucked up?
I heard the front door slam, and the screech of tires.
I had definitely fucked up.
Feliks....
