Chapter 8

As soon as the trade ship was in orbit, it joined the Vae Victus, the Space Marine ship Captain Ventris was commanding, and it also joined the Inquisitors ship, the Emperors Glory, and the trio of ships prepared to enter the perilous Warp as the Inquisitor all had everyone gather on the trade ships command bridge.

"Now that we are once again all together, I will explain out mission.

"Carkiss 10 has once again come under attack from the enemies of the Imperium. Cultists and rebels have once again rose up against the Imperials there and have been fighting against us for three months straight and we have not won a single victory against them so far.. and now the Ultramarines are bring pulled into this conflict along with more reinforcements..

"Where do we come in?" asked Scarlet in her new Assassin uniform.

"We are here to not only help rally the soldiers but we will be taking back some vital equipment from the rebels. Captain Ventris and one of his Sergeants will be accompanying us on this mission." said Haydrax.

"Did they take it?" suddenly asked Jonathan.

Everyone looked to him as he was sitting down on a chair nearby with his rifle on his back.

"Take what?" asked Engelbart.

"My previous mission that we barely managed to succeed at was to protect something... of course..." and then the Imperial Guardsmen looked over to Ventris.

"This is the Inquisition.. you can speak of it..." said Ventris with a nod.

"What is this?" asked Eli.

"Its a Standard Template Construct meant to build... well.. something called a Maglev cannon... meant to fire large rounds into orbit to destroy ships... the Mechanicus sent everything they had with my regiment to protect it... but the last time I was there... the cultists brought others into the fight to take it.." said the Sergeant.

Ventris nodded as Haydrax sighed before saying, "Yes they did take it.. and we'll be running a gauntlet of debris from others who have died to it before we can deploy... and once on the ground, we will be immediately attacked by the enemy.. so you must be prepared..."

"Wait, how do you now of this Standard Template?" asked Engelbart from nearby.

Everyone looked to the Space Marine Captain as he cleared his throat.

"We were sent with another Space Marine Company to reclaim the cannon, which the Inquisition had thought to be lost.. but when we arrived at the entrance... we found him, bloodied and covered in grime, barely standing at the entrance with a lasrifle out of charge packs..." said Ventris.

"So that's how you know him?" asked Jaxx as he finished his Iho stick.

"He wasn't the only Space Marine there... there was one other Space Marine there..." the Sergeant faltered as he looked away.

"Who were they?" asked Haydrax, who didn't know everything to this.

"They were with... well..... the Ordo........ Malleus..." said the Sergeant at last.

"Ordo Malleus? Why would they be there if they aren't.... meant...." Phrix trailed off as she loked at the Sergeant.

Then, Jonathan took off his helmet and then took off what looked like synthflesh as he exposed a silver scar along his head. It was the shape of the Ordo Malleus symbol and as Ventris nearby sighed, he said to them all, "Although you are the Inquisition, the Ordo Malleus does not like to reveal all of its secrets. They are the daemon hunters of the Imperium... but the Space Marines he saw... were the sons of Titan..."
