Chapter 24

Shino slowly lead Jonathan and Logan through the ruins of the area near the Chaos Marines under Tarah's command as she tried to make sure she wasn't spotted by the Chaos marines or the Chaos cultists and traitor guardsmen and as they kept a low profile along the ground. As she kept looking around, she looked back to Jonathan and Logan as she watched them try to keep their long robes from tripping them up and as she went back to leading them, they walked over some broken concrete as she stopped them just as they cleared it.

She saw at least three Chaos cultists and guardsman standing around at a small post just up ahead in the remains of a broken-open bunker. The center of the bunker had been obliterated by a high-powered shell and whoever had been inside had been completely creamed and probably also had been smeared into bloody stains in the rubble that was within the bunkers hollow shell.

As she watched the guards slowly smoke Iho sticks, she said behind her, "Don't do anything.. I'll see if I can find us a way around these guards."

But when she looked back behind her to where her two followers were, she saw them completely nowhere to be seen and as she looked back to the guards, she got low as she could see the two of them slowly making their way amongst the broken rubble as they went after the unsuspecting guards.

Jonathan took up a broken piece of rebar as Logan took up a brick and as they came to the bunker, they could see the corpses of fellow guardsmen lying in the broken bunker and as both of them managed to slide up against the bunkers back half in their damp clothing, they looked inside at the lazy chaos cultists armed with only laspistols while the traitor guardsmen was armed with a lasrifle with a jagged bayonet on its end.

"Ready for this?" asked Jonathan in a hushed tone towards Logan.

"Ready as ever, Stalker... man, its been a while since I've called you that.." said Logan.

Stalker almost chuckled but he merely shifted around the corner as he hefted his rebar and threw it as hard as he could. It was anything but aerodynamic but it still did the job right as it sank through the traitor guardsmen neck in a splurt of blood and as the traitor guardsmen coughed and tried to pull the rebar out while the two cultists turned and fired at both guardsmen.

Logan ducked as he chucked his brick and it hit a cultist as they stumbled back with a bleeding head but were still up but then Logan and Jonathan charged in as they both brandished long blades of random metal that they had picked up.

Logan swung his with both hands as the first cultist tried to duck it but the slash hit his chest and as they stumbled back, Logan grappled for the laspistol as both went tumbling to the ground. Jonathan swung his blade at the second, injured cultist and as it sliced the cultists left hand, the cultist yelped and stumbled back just as Jonathan rammed the rusted metal siding into the cultists stomach and then slid it out as bloody intestines glomped out onto the ground as the cultist merely fell over and dropped his laspistol.

Jonathan grabbed it and as he aimed it at the other cultist, he watched Logan finish them off with a brick as he crushed their head before looking at Jonathan.

"You done yet, Rambo?"

"Oh yeah... and drop the pistol, it has got to be tainted." said Logan as he then began to look around for some new clothes and armor.

Jonathan followed suit and as Shino slowly made her way towards them, she watched as they suddenly disappear from view and she panicked as she ran over and when she arrived there, she watched as they were stripping themselves of their wet clothes and putting on the armor and uniform the long dead Imperial Guardsmen had on them. The Carkiss Imperial Guardsmen uniforms were a uniform grey with red parts on it while their armor was what seemed to be a rust red and as she watched them take off the robes, she saw them naked and both turned away as Logan said, "Stop staring and look away."
