Chapter 25

The day slowly came to Carkiss 10 and as Haydrax climbed over the ruined remains of the Imperial bunker, he looked back to everyone else behind us. Engelbart, Widit, Theo, and Dewyer were all managing to keep up even with being augmented as they managed to get over the broken terrain of Carkiss 10.

Keeping up next to Haydrax was Drake, Stark, Rex, Toombs, and Jaxx as both Prhix and Angelo was also managing to keep up with them as they soon climbed up next to Haydrax.

Eli, Scarlet, and Mac were all ahead of the group as they seemed to ghost over the terrain in their skin-tight suits and cloaks as they kept their rifles up in case someone popped up and they needed to engage.

Then there was Alec and Chrima as they followed the group kinda slowly as they were more likely to outrun everyone if they tried.

"We gotta keep moving, guys.. those Chaos Marines are still after us.. and if we don't reach the Imperial lines, they're gonna slaughter us." said Haydrax to everyone as he waved them on after him.

"How far do you think we are?" asked Jaxx as he continued to go on with his shotgun out.

"We could still be miles away and that's what worries me..." said Haydrax.

As the group continued onward still, Alec said to them all, " I feel the warp getting a bit stronger... that bodes ill."

The whole group looked at the Grey Knight before Phrix said from nearby, "He's right... something big too from what I can feel."

Haydrax looked at them both before he said, "Keep us away from it as best as you can... otherwise, we must move on."

They all nodded as they continued to crawl over the ruins and rubble of the manufactorums that once stood high here.

When Shino appeared in some Carkiss Imperial guardsmen armor and uniform with the blades, rifle, and pistol, she looked around for Stalker and Logan. Although the armor made her feel a little more better with walking around, she was becoming increasingly worried with not seeing either of the two boys and as she looked around, she then called out, "Stalker? Logan?"

"Psst! Over here!" She heard one of them and as she looked around, she saw them in the bunker nearby as they were waving her over.

She quickly went over to them and as Logan took the rifle and checked the laspack as he then watched as Jonathan, or Stalker as he decided to start calling him now, take one of the longer blades that looked like a sword as he took the laspistol as he then said to her, "You ready?"

"Wait? We're already going?" asked Shino as she took one blade and put it into her belt.

"Yeah." said Logan as he took the last blade that looked like a cleaver as he put it in his belt as a secondary. "I mean, we did say the moment we got weapon we're out of here."

" But we're really far from Imperial lines! We'll need some sort of vehicle to get there!" said Shino as she looked around with her machete-like blade.

Stalker and Logan looked at one another before Stalker said, "Let's just... get going and we're gonna eventually find us a transport for us to use."

She gulped but nodded and as Logan looked around, he then motioned them and the trio began to go across the ground as then they began to make their way towards Imperial lines as Shino directed them that way.

The sound of a firefight ensuing up ahead brought Haydrax to a halt as the whole group ducked into what cover was around if they had it while most of them just got onto their knees and aimed towards the sounds of fighting as Eli looked through the scope of his rifle and looked to see what he could see.
