I wake up to my alarm clock playing 679 By: Fetty Wap. I put on my uniform, grabbed my bag, ate a pop tart, got on my motorcycle, and drove off to school. When I got there I parked my motorcycle and walked inside. I immediately saw Max . He was wearing his uniform but tried his best not to show his arm. He did a good job of it because no one asked him any questions. I remember cleaning his wounds. His six pack showing. I walked over to him.
Me: "Hey, show me your arms."
Max: "Why you've already seen them."
I forced him to show me his arms. The bandages weren't replaced.
Me: "Where are the bandages."
Max: " I took them off before my shower."
Me: "Yeah I know that but why weren't they replaced."
Max: "Look I didn't have bandages, okay?"
Me: "Fine. I have some extras, here."
I tossed him the bandages and he shoved them in his bag.
Max: "Thanks."
I really care about Max. I would do anything to keep his safe. I know he would do the same for me. I've decided that the first chance I get I'm going to break up with Cameron. Max is who I belong with. Just then the bell rang and it was time for first period.
A few hours past it was around 11:08 a.m. when the office lady called my name over the loud speaker.
Office lady: "Ms.K can you please send Kate down to the office? She's going home."
Ms. Kumar: "Kate you are excused."
Me: "Thanks."
I walked to my locker and grabbed my stuff. I feel like I have seen this before.
I walked downstairs but found my dad instead of my mom. Oh Sugar. Honey. Ice. Tea. No not my mom she can't be in the hospital.
Me: "What's going on?"
Dad: "Sweetie. There is no easy way to say this but your mother is in the hospital."
NO! This is not happening! My mother is not in the hospital. She is at her job, working. My mother is okay. But why would he say she's in the hospital if she's not. This has to be one of those MTV pranks.
Me: "You're lying."
Dad: "I wish I was, but I'm not. She's at Baylor hospital. Floor 6, room 12."
You're lying you little fugger I think. I don't believe him for one second. I hate him. Just the fact he called me sweetie bothers me. He doesn't care about me.
I ran out the door and speed away to Baylor on my motorcycle. I reached room 12 on floor 6. I walked in and there I saw my mom laying in a hospital bed, hooked up to a breathing tube and a heart monitor. She looked so pale. NO! This isn't happening. I ran over to my mom and hugged her. My mother, my only mother.
The doctor pulled me off of her. He was a tall black male with a low voice and a buzz cut
Doctor: "Hi, I'm Dr. Shin. I am taking care of your mother."
Me: "What happened to her?"
Doctor: "There was a hit and run. She was driving to some place. She is in a coma."
Me: "No this is not happening."
Doctor: "I'm afraid it is."
I rushed out the door of the room and walked out of the hospital. I hopped on my motorcycle and started driving. I didn't know where to but I had an idea in mind.
