Lucas
I had just parked my old truck in the driveway and was walking up to the door when Kirsten pulled up and hopped out of her car.
“Lucas?” She sounded a little unsure and I turned around to see her eyes glued to the house. “You live here?”
I looked up at the nice house then back to her. I could see how she wouldn’t expect me to be living here, only a few blocks from her fancy house.
I smirked to her. “No, I’m here to rob the place.” Her eyes got huge as saucers and a laughed. “I’m kidding. Yes this is where I live, now come on.”
I opened the front door and stepped in, finding a note on the table by the door. Kirsten walked in, closing the door, as I read the note. Apparently mom took Ally with her for some errands or to play somewhere or something. Not really sure, mom’s handwriting is pretty horrible.
“Oh, em freaking G!” I turned around and almost laughed at how surprised and excited Kirsten looked. “This house is amazing!”
I smiled and started looking for my laptop, trying to remember where I left it. “Yeah, my mom went a little crazy.” I smirked. “I think she was overcompensating.”
“For what?”
“Ah, I think I left it under the coffee table.”
She grinned playfully as she walked over, grabbing my arm. “No, hold on, you’re avoiding here.”
“I’m not avoiding anything.” I smiled, pulling back and inching toward the coffee table.
“You are so avoiding.” I kept walking and she moved between me and the coffee table, trying to block me. “I’m not letting you get to your computer until you stop avoiding.”
I grinned. “Then I guess I’ll just have to move you.”
Her jaw dropped slightly as she looked at me with narrowed eyes. “Oh no, don’t you dare.”
I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her to me. She shrieked then started laughing as she tried to wiggle away, but I only held her closer as I pulled her away from the table.
“Okay okay!” She said with a laugh as she stopped squirming. “Alright, I give.” I grinned and she turned around in my arms, smiling up at me. “I’m changing my tactics.”
“Is that so?”
She smiled and wrapped her arms around my neck. “Yep. I’m going to sweet talk it out of you.”
I smirked but the door slammed shut before I could say anything else. Kirsten and I immediately jumped away from each other as Roger set his things down.
“Well, what do we have here?” He slowly walked farther into the living room. “This isn’t your personal make-out room Lucas, you-“ Roger cut off as he got a closer look at Kirsten. “Is that . . . that’s the Daniels girl isn’t it? The girl that’s dating Samuel Chamber’s son?”
He looked away as his anger grew and hit the side of his fist against the wall. Kirsten jumped and quickly moved behind me. I needed to get her out of the room before Roger blew a gasket. I did not want her to see that.
“Kirsten,” I said in a lower voice, “go wait in my room. It’s down the hall and around the corner, has a ‘No Jerks Allowed’ sign on the door.”
She nodded and quickly slipped around Roger and down the hall. Roger turned to look at me.
“What are you doing with that girl? Do you know who she is!? She’s from a very good family and is a well behaved girl, nothing like you. You shouldn’t even be anywhere near her! You’ll rune that girl then you know what they’ll say about me!?”
