Chapter 38

Rachel's POV

 Two months later...

    Wicked has been such a success the past month it's been running not only because of me, but because of Kristen and Idina as well. I'm truly honored to get the chance to perform beside Broadway legends like them nearly every night. The best thing about this experience that I've started to form a friendship with them. They're amazing people on the inside and out. 

    There are so many advantages to being friends with them too. Now I don't mean to sound self-centered with what I'm about to say, but it's true. Being with them in the public eye gets me more attention, positive feedback on the Broadway blogs, and the chance of new opportunities to come my way. Rachel Berry is hitting the ground running! 

Kurt's POV

  Blaine is out with Santana and Brittany for the night. They're hitting up a local club. They invited me, but I just wasn't in a clubbing mood. I'm not upset, I'm just too lazy to leave the apartment to be honest. So instead, I invited Mr.Schue over so that him and I could talk a bit. 

  "Mr.Schue, I invited you over tonight for two reasons. One is because I've barely seen you outside of work and the other is because I need to ask you a question." He nods, which is an indication for me to continue speaking. "Mr.Schue, you and Rachel have been together for 4 months now, but you've known each other for so many years. When are you going to pop the question?" He eyes pop out of his head. "I want to ask her, but I'm terrified.

   I grab a hold of his hands. "You of all people shouldn't be scared Mr.Schue. Rachel loves you so much and you love her deeply. I haven't seen her this happy since she was with Finn, which has been years. Finn would be so happy to know that Rachel has found a wonderful man who taught her that it's okay to love again.

   Tears form in his eyes. "I know that he would be happy for us, but sometimes I feel as though I took his true love away from him. Everyone thought and knew that Rachel and Finn were endgame." I sigh. "They were, but unfortunately they can't be anymore. Finn wouldn't be ashamed of you or Rachel, ever. He had nothing but unconditional love for the both of you. We would want this for you. So stop feeling guilty okay?" He nods. "Good." I pull him in for a hug and rub his back gently to calm him down. 

  Mr.Schue shouldn't get worked up like this. Him and Rachel are a lovely couple and despite some indifference at first, everyone has grown to love them together.
